jasd
cricket! How does one read Sheesh! as more ‘political’ than Pope Calls for a World Political Authority --?-- Weird and weirder... For Bravus: a trillion here and a trillion there and pretty soon – your kids, grandkids, their kids, ad infinitum... are indentured slaves. Now that! is substantial. Moderators Bravus Posted October 1, 2009 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2009 Not mine: I'm an Aussie. The trillions wouldn't have been needed if Bush hadn't worked so hard at getting rid of all regulation on the financial markets. But we'll never agree on this stuff... Members phkrause
We've been indentured slaves for years to the government. It matters not one iota who is in office. All that is going on now and for the past number of years has nothing to do with politics, all there doing is slinging mud at each other, and all those following, are just being led by the nose and don't even realize it. pk Quote phkrause Obstinacy is a barrier to all improvement. - ChL
Ted Oplinger
Not mine: I'm an Aussie. The trillions wouldn't have been needed if Bush hadn't worked so hard at getting rid of all regulation on the financial markets. But we'll never agree on this stuff... And if the opposition party hadn't blocked the very regulation efforts Bush did try to place on certain sensitive points of the financial sector. Takes two to tango, and Bush is just as guilty as those who pillory his name to this day. There's just not a dime's difference between Bush "Republicanism" and the Democrats who villify it. Propaganda aside, they're playing the same game. Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan

bonnie
"Propaganda aside, they're playing the same game" The first sensibile thing said in a long time on the politics threads, thank you Ted. pk There is a difference with Obama. Any and everything done previously is being done at a pace and a reach never before in this country. We know this will come but I am not sure we are to champion the one doing this because of that,or turn a blind eye "because others have done same" Possibly the same, but not at the reckless abandon we are now on Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.
