Should General George Casey Resign?

It has taken several days for me to muster the fortitude to even think about the despicable words of General George Casey, Jr., much less put a few thoughts on the screen.

The American people might expect such contemptible words from those who represent the radical left of the country, but coming from the top brass of the United States Army, many of us are still in a state of disbelief.

Let’s review his words:

Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that's worse.

If the General has not apologized and retracted those words, he should resign immediately. Far left politically correct ideology made possible the massacre at Ft. Hood and his words add insult to injury and death.

If our diversity dies, that would be worse than the death of 13 Americans? Let me remind the General that he lives in America, where we’ve always been a diverse people. We cannot cease from being a diverse people. What kind of diversity is he speaking of? Diversity to oppose the very principles one has sworn to uphold? Is the General mad, brainwashed, or just a true leftist?

Diversity is only our strength to the degree that a diverse people are united in common beliefs and values.

I’m guessing that the General has been reeducated in the postmodern diversity camps. Under the new way of thinking, diversity in itself is a virtue. Oh, but the General and his ilk are sadly misguided. His view of diversity will get us all killed. Unity is our strength.

Currently, one of the greatest threats to America is Islamic terrorism. We must accept that Islam at its core is not a religion of peace; while at the same time, acknowledging that many Muslims practice their faith in a peaceful way. Many good people in the country and Army call themselves Muslims.

So far as the United States military is concerned it’s a matter of allegiance. If a Muslim’s allegiance is to Islam and not the very Army he’s enlisted or commissioned in, that should be an obvious problem. The traitors in our midst should fear a backlash. Those on our side should be reassured. May the General take off the blinders of political correctness and rid our Army of the enemies from within. If he can’t do that, then he should turn in his resignation papers.
