President Obama Said Today That He Believes He Lost Direct Connection

Recommended Posts

Bonnie,

You quoted President Obama as saying:

Quote:
If there's one thing that I regret this year is that we were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values.

The way he worded this makes it sound like he wants to tell us what our core values are. I know what my core values are. Why do I need him to tell me what my core values are? Am I misreading what he said?

Because he is Obama The Annointed One. He knows what our core values should be and he is going to cram "our core values" down our throat. I would like to see him be a bit more forthright about his own personal core values.

I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values.

The above is such a farce. He spoke to the american people all last summer. He ridiculed them,he laughed and dismissed the tea parties, and did not want to listen to the chatter.Went so far as to say they should just sit down and shutup.

It was only when he realized there were not to many still genuflecting at the mere mention of his name he acknowledges

that maybe he has to retract a bit

What a shock that there is the slightest chance he may have misread the seriousness of the anger towards him and HIS government. That may have really confused him tho as he quickly blamed Bush for Coakely's loss

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

If he's a practical politician he'll move to the center like Clinton did in 1994. If he doesn't, I think he'll likely be a one-term president.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John. You are right there. I had forgotten how much Clinton did change. To his credit.

Big difference between Clinton and Obama. Clinton was not immoral as much as I think he was amoral.I think he liked being president for the glory and recognition. He would have adopted any

ideology that would keep him president.

Personally I think Obama believes the presidency his due and we all need to be grateful he ran and won. Remember his wife said when he won the primaries "this was the first time she had been proud of her country" His ideology is not for sale. While he may retreat somewhat I don't expect much different. Maybe a different spin.He is a socialist thru and thru.

I agree. If America goes socialist, it should be because the majority of the people vote for it, and not because they got hoodwinked. This reminds me of the way the health reform bill is being rushed through and not debated openly and publicly. Everything should be above board and in plain sight.

I don't know how much of the health care bill you have read but if that were debated publically those backing it could forget about politics as a career.

They created a health care crisis and then claimed to fix it.

This country is in such a financial mess it is ripe for government expanding it's role. What won't happen in a roaring economy will the worse the economy becomes.

Do you really think Obama can undo 8 years of Republican bungling in 1 year? Do you hate his personality/character even more than his supposedly Socialist agenda?

And why do I detect (just reading between the lines) a loathing of the man that transcends political disagreement and division and clearly smacks of unchristianlike regard for our fellow humans, no matter how much we disagree with them?

Lastly, (staying in the questioning mode), there is no deeply submerged racial undertones that can be attached to this vitriol, is there? bwink

Alex (can you guess that I'm a Democrat?)

I hope your not addressing me Alex. I do not loathe President Obama. Or have made any comments against him, etc.

ALEX

I HAVE voted for 3rd party candidates for the last

5 presidental elections SO I consider my self and

conservitive independent voter......

I can see that OBAMA is seemingly doing his best

but he also seems like he thinks he can do no wrong

I have voted every since I could back in the day

when you had to be 21

I have voted for Republican and Democratic presidents

I ALSO voted for ROSS PEROT

I believe that people should vote but I believe that

is coming down to the point that neither major party can

really help time is short and people will get so upset

that they will soon turn to their relgious leaders and

the pope for the solutions

this will bring on the sunday laws

maybe I am getting a little off subject so I will stop

dgrimm60

dgrimm I disagree with your statement that Obama thinks he can do no wrong. Its the media that reports it that way. Just like when Bush became President. At first he was Ok than things changed as the years went by.

Obama won because the Republicans did a terrible job of running the country. Obama and his team haven't grasp that yet. The think people voted for them and their agenda when in reality people voted against the Republicans and their incompetence. Polls show over and over that more American people support the Republican platform than support the Democratic platform. The problem with the Republicans is that they became the do-nothing Congress. President Bush was the worst defender of his policies than any other President in recent times. The Democrats we the default party. The people choose to empower Obama and the other Democrats because they were sick of the Republicans.

Obama and the Democrats have read this as if the people voted for his agenda. They repeatedly say they won and thus the Republicans need to lay down and let them (the Democrats) govern because the people have chosen them. Now they are confused because the people seem to be turning against them. The same people that they believe voted for their agenda are mad at them.

I have to agree with you 100% on this. This is exactly what I said back when he won. And now the people voted in, at least in Mass, an independent, because they didn't want to vote in a Democrat. And come 2012 and the democrats don't get themselves doing things better they will find themselves out also.
