I get sick

Recommended Posts

.....and am turned to a collection agency by the radiologists, who didn't send a bill...

True statement for all you republicans....

... the stupid collection agency is charging 9% interest! so any payments made is eaten up with interest....

I know it was a democrate who said that the Republicans had a "good" health care plan....It involved in a 2 step process...

1] Don't get sick....

2] If you do get sick, then die.

Why can't we get a stupid healthcare system that will help EVERYONE.......Instead, I got bills coming out my ears....

And yes, for all republicans, it would have been better if I had died, economically speaking...

I know that this thread is more of political interest than general information...but this is sooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

stupid....

All because you republicans have this thing about your money and "distribution of wealth" being a bad thing....

And yet, if you "Christian" guys really wanted to help, you could send your $500 donations to me...'cuz I got over $3000 in co-pays to manage.....

Thank you Republicans for screwing me out of my hard earned cashs....And thank you for "saving" America from "socialism"

Just a hint, Neil.

When you go to pay the bill, pay it directly to the radiologists and not to the collection agency. That way you pay just what's on the bill (and perhaps some interest, depending how long it's been in arrears)

But Gail,....with what do I pay them?

It's easy to say that I can pay them....

it's a totally different thing when they don't send me a bill!

((((Neil)))) I hope you can get it cleared up. Dealing with medical bills is a pain. Especially when you didn't even know you had them to begin with.

This diatribe against The Grand Old Party is an outrage.

You would rather have a president who gives trillions to big business? How is Obama helping you? Obama wants to limit your benefits and raise the cost of your insurance. You think you got it tough NOW ... just wait till Obama gets in your the pocket of your jeans.

I give up. If this ain't political ... I just don't know what is.

It certainly is more political than a Christian Missionary couple being shot down in Peru.

May we be one so that the world may be won.

Who ordained you, Neil, to decide that you had the right to receive health care at someone else's expense? Don't tell me... the democrats?

Do I ask you to pay for my food? Food is much more of a basic need than health care.

How about my home? My clothes? Are you kicking in anything for them? These are very basic needs and much more of a priority than an xray or a CT scan.

I think your rant above is so completely misguided it is an intellectual travesty.

Health care is a commodity no different from anything you might buy at Walmart. It is supplied by hard-working, real people who are highly educated and trained. The fact that these people are available to help you is not a gift from your government, and if you and others of your ilk are successful in socializing medicine, you will have progressively less and less of them to help you.

These are bright people - the cream of the crop - who blew the end out of the curve in undergraduate school, and they will find something else to do if you and others decide that they should not be paid handsomely for what they do. Many doctors and nurses have come here from other countries which have socialized. Now that there is nowhere left to go, just count on bright people going into some other field that pays well. It won't be medicine if you convince everyone not to pay for it.

Do you democrats think money grows on trees and that there are people with nothing better to do than to sit around until you have a medical need and then provide highly skilled healthcare for you without charge?

Grow up. What you and the rest of the democrats are planning to do is rip somebody else off for your health care. That is the long and short of it. You're gonna stick it to the rich, or the people with cadillac plans, or the middle class, or any taxpayer you can tap for it. Or you'll just spend the country farther into bankruptcy and thus inflate all the dollars people are trying to save for the future.

No matter how you slice it, this is just plain wrong.

Nice rant, Karl...not based in fact, but nice rant....

Fact is, current health care is socialized. You have medicare and the VA already being administered here in America. That's "socialized medicine", Karl. ..And Dr. and Nurses and other allied medical professionals are being well paid on that alone....with the exception of those who live in high priced areas, ie Aspen Co. where a undeveloped lot goes for $225, 000 But don't worry, Karl! In case you didn't know, Castle Valley Hospital that is there in Aspen is subsidized by the Saudis...Been there...worked there....

Currently, most of health care where insurance is paying the bills, is being charged more to subsidize those who are not allowed to be turned away and who have no health care. That means, Karl who hates socialized medicine, that those of us who currently have insurance, and over charged so that we can subsidize those who can not be turned away and who have no health insurance. Talk about your "socialized" medicine...I would call that "highway robbery". Shoot, loan sharks are the only profession that does better...only medicine gets away with it...legally...If you don't like that, why don't you talk to your conservative republican representative....

.......Oh, what good it is to tell you any truth, Karl? You would just simply refuse to listen to the truth....And it's people like you who gall your republican politicians into inaction...

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

Just a sidenote: how long have we had a Democratic Congress? The President can't sign a bill that hasn't first passed the House and Senate. Put the blame on who really is the culprit.

As to radiology bills, a lot of teleradiology goes on now. Neil's xrays/CT or whatever could have been read by radiologists working in India. Trying to find who read the exam(s) could be very time-consuming...(unless you have access to a fax machine and call the hospital/clinic and tell them you are Dr So and So and need the report of the exam done on NeilD.....) Then to find an address to mail a check for payment directly to a radiology group is next to impossible.

HAHAHAHAHAHA That's a good one! Medicare and the VA have the lowest reimbursement rates in the nation. Their reimbursement for a mammogram doesn't even cover the cost to a facility that provides that service. Neither does Tri-Care (for the VA).

Oh, don't you worry....I know that there are dem who are culpable....I just wish I could do about those who insist that thier state get something [in essense, a buy the vote] so that they will vote "yes".....But that, as Shane would say, is politics...

As for the teleradiology, it is my understanding, that the radiologists form groups [say their from a semi large town like Newport, Oregon] and send one of thier number to France or Oz [They have 6 or 7 Drs.]. There, ONE Dr works 8 hours a day, reading Xrays for that group [and rural groups] who are 8 hours behind. During his off hours, he gets to wonder the forgien country side....When he tires of that, someone else from the group replaces him, and he returns home to resume his duties. They can rotate this out 1 per six months, or 1 per six weeks or 1 per month....and even take a family along....Pretty slick in my humble opinion..

According to the Administration official who I talked to last week, that's not true...anymore...And if that facility isn't covering costs with every Xray, then there is something wrong with the adminstration and the productivity of the department...

Every department is required to make money, and at least, cover thier costs....Otherwise, they remove the manager...and replace him with someone who can make the department make money...

Yep. Look what Obama has done today. Today is the first day of the credit card disaster. The new laws went in today. Many from my church are suffering great difficulties because of Obama's new law. One family had to take out a second mortgage to pay the increased interest rates from Obama.

Please, Neil, and all the other liberals reading - please understand that there are only two ways to slice this. Either you pay your own way or somebody else has to pay your bills. There is no free lunch, and, contrary to the democratic platform, money cannot be made out of thin air.

Can you blame me for wanting lower prices when they are available if the legislatures would get off thier ...duffs...and get busy doing something. As it is, Obama wants a 60% vote in favor of his healthcare bill. And some of you repubs don't want to think about it.

The ONLY way you can get lower prices for GOOD health care is to do what the DEMS refuse to do - Get rid of our current government involvement so there can be real competition and rein in the lawyers so you don't have all the extra stuff being done simply to cover the behinds of the health care industry.

The best value right now in health care is in plastic surgery, where there is no insurance involvement and the competition is stiff.

And please DO NOT cite lower health care costs for countries with socialized medicine. Just move there. Enjoy the whole package and find out why they come here for the care they can't get in their own countries.

Right now you have the opportunity to go to Canada or Mexico for your health care, Neil. Why don't you do it?

OK, one more time let's go through the basics:

1) Healthcare is a highly skilled workforce product produced by some of the most talented people in our culture.

2) The nation can cut its cost for this product by free market competition and protection of the industry through tort reform, by forcing the health care industry to take less for their product, by rationing the product, or by stealing money from someone else to pay for it. Your choice. Dems don't want the first, honest solution. They choose the last three alternatives.

3) Yes, health care bills can be high. Pay 'em or don't ask for the care.

My house cost $150K. My cars cost $20K each. My computer was over $1K. I'm not complaining about the cost of these items. I'm paying the bills for them. My house is the work product of the building industry. My car is the work product of the automotive industry. My computer is the work product of silicon valley.

Now, when my daughter needed her eardrum rebuilt, to the cost of $8K, what should have been my reaction? Should I have done a big rant against conservative principles? Should I have demanded that the healthcare industry give me their work product for free or at a discount?

I just paid the bill. It's just another bill, Neil. No different from any of the others.
