That is a long time to be married and here I thought my parents had been married a long time. The end of March we are celebrating their 70th. My Dad is 96 and my Mom 93.

Don't discount your parents' longevity!

Sunday marks my in-laws' 40th anniversary. We're making a big "to-do" about it. Big dinner, slide shows, toasts, music, etc. I'm so happy to be able to go and share this special time with them. Their example of marriage has meant a great deal to me and I am in the mood for celebrating good stuff that God does!!

My father-in-law is getting married May 1. He's 87 years old. I'm so excited! My soon to be stepmother-in-law is a real sweetheart.

My mother-in-law died almost 2 years ago, shortly after their 60th anniversary. Due to a series of strokes, her mind went long before her body failed completely, and Dad was so faithful and kind in taking care of her when she could no longer take care of herself. It's time he had some real companionship again.

I know it's a little off the topic, but I couldn't resist after reading Chrys' post about her in-laws' anniversary.
