GreatLakesGramma
At this moment, I am sitting in our small, concrete-surrounded little room in the basement, waiting out a severe thunderstorm, with high winds like the ones that did so much damage to our house 2 years ago. I sure don't want to go through that again! But of even more concern, our son went somewhere in his car shortly before this storm hit, so he is in much more serious danger than we are. Any and all prayers will be greatly appreciated. The warning is in effect for the next half hour, but the storm could last longer. GreatLakesGramma
Son just got home, safe and sound, and is now in shelter with us. Storm is still very bad. GreatLakesGramma
Yes, Sivart, we are safe as anyone could be in our shelter. Husband didn't build it as a storm shelter, but it makes a very good one, so long as one doesn't mind sitting on the boards covering the sump pit - on chairs of course. He dug it out of the crawl space under the kitchen. On one side it's bare earth, two sides are concrete blocks, the part going into the basement under the bedrooms is open. Of course, I still would really like for our house not to be damaged this time. Quote Catherine God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26. GreatLakesGramma
All is well. The storm is past, we are all safe, and our house is fully intact. Thank you, Lord, for our shelter, for the weather radio that alerts us to such dangers, and most of all, for Your protecting hand over us. And thank you at CA for your prayers. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

Overaged
I'm glad you all made through OK. I remember a few years back a deadly tornado hit an area near me, killing a number of people. I knew one little boy who was there at the time; and he said to me: "I saw Jesus in the storm saving our house." Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..."
