David_McQueen
You walk into a room and a song is playing which sums you up. What would it be? What do you think others who know you would be playing. aldona
My theme song is "Pray" by Tina Cousins. That is one song I would be quite happy to play all day, every day, and not get tired of it. It sums up my philosophy of life beautifully. You can all play it at my funeral (if the world goes on that long.) (quote) What a miracle is life The fields are high and the fruit is ripe So hold out your hands Yeah hold out your hands And you’re the same as me You breathe the air I breathe And we don’t understand Yeah we don’t understand And if you don’t ask questions you won’t know why So say a prayer for the time while there’s still time so Pray for good and pray for love Pray for peace and pray it’s enough Pray for salvation Pray that we’re right Pray one day we’ll open our eyes and Pray for them and pray for us Pray one day we can live as one Pray for the children whose time is to come Just pray they forgive us for the stupid things we’ve done We all see the same sun Each day a golden praise is sung To the wonder of man Yeah to the wonder of man And when we look why can’t we see All the riches that are free Oh we don’t understand Yeah we don’t understand Pray for good and pray for love Pray for peace and pray it’s enough Pray for salvation Pray that we’re right Pray one day we’ll open our eyes and Pray for them and pray for us Pray one day we can live as one Pray for the children whose time is to come Just pray they forgive us for the stupid things we’ve done (end quote) aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music? Pockey
What a great question. I don't have a theme song yet...but before I would have to say it was "There is a light that never goes out" by The Smiths.
Taylor
I heard a song once where the words went like this and it moved me to tears: In a land not far away a little girl sits crying, she's only 3 All alone she sits in her bombed out home No one needs to tell her, war is on But to the armies around her She's just another refugee Another war statistic In a land where someone's fight for right Is another person's loss of life This little girl faces life alone And God, she's only 3 years old! Chorus For the sake of the children come quickly Lord For the sake of all the children, come soon All around this cruel world, their little cries go out unheard There was another verse but I don't remember it. By the way, if anyone knows who wrote this song or where I can get a copy I would like to know. It was written by an SDA. For the sake of the children, come soon. aldona
Wow, that's a powerful set of lyrics. Thank you for sharing that, Taylor. Does anybody know where we can hear what it sounds like? aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
