What takes your breath away?

For me there is nothing like seeing some of the great wonders of God's creation. I've been on backpacking hikes ... way into the wilderness and have gone around a corner and had my breath just stopped. There is nothing like seeing some of God's grand wonders in person.

Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, so I like desert terrains along with the rest of the outdoors. To stand at the bottom of a canyon, look up at the high multicolored walls feeling very small and alone is fantastic. That would be in the canyons of Utah!

The idea of the canyons of Utah ... only gives me chills. It makes me think of Aron Ralston. YUCK.

Woody isn't the title of the thread "What takes your Breath away?" So obviously to each his own. CoAspen likes what he likes and you like what you like! I personally like both of your likes. :)

The things is Woody, other than man made or built stuff, there isn't much I don't stand in awe of. I find the world to be full of God's beauty.

For me it is the wonders of the deep.

One of the best Sabbaths I have ever spent was 150 miles out in the Coral Sea drift diving walls that dropped into the deep 1000 feet below, having sharks swimming all around me and ending the day at sunset on a tiny sandbar of an island watching baby turtles come up out of their nest and race to the sea we had just spent the day diving in. I still thrill at the memory from that day of a reef shark coming straight at my face and rising up slightly only at the last second literally rubbing his belly through my hair! Just plain awesome!

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
