Nicodema
Some of you on here may remember I got terminated from my job of 3.5 years exactly one year ago, but the Lord graciously provided lots of freelance work and I made it through pretty well until the late fall. Just when the projects dried up, I started nannying my ex's baby. Well, I am again without a steady source of income -- they have decided to go with an agency for a more permanent childcare solution. I have very little freelance work and have certain stress-type problems with the typical 9-5 setting or long hours in general. Please pray that the Lord will provide more freelance work for me to do and/or something part-time in a low-stress, friendly environment for me to earn income. Right now others are "carrying" me financially and while I appreciate the loving support, that's just not fair to them. Thanks. Nico Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Administrators Naomi Posted April 3, 2005 Administrators Share Posted April 3, 2005 As will I <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1_prayer001.gif" alt="" /> Nico, I can appreciate experiencing difficuities of sitting in an office all day. I can't do it either. Have you considered something a little more active? There are a lot of things you can do which don't require being in an office. Nicodema
Thank you, friends. Naomi, I have thought about that -- I'd be happy even doing some routine housekeeping for a couple households once a week, whatever. I don't need a lot of $$, just what's necessary to pay the bills & survive. I'm open to ideas. Just can't take long hours anywhere, on feet or off. Administrators Naomi Posted April 4, 2005 Administrators Share Posted April 4, 2005 Nico, Off-the-top of my head, if you don't need lots of money there are always "Secret Shopper" jobs and free-lance Merchandising positions available. Also many people who demonistrate products in various stores work through agencies. This allows you to work 4 or 6 hour shifts. Just don't accept Trade Show work (unless you have firm clarification of hours) they may require you to work anywhere from 8 to 14 hours constantly standing and smiling Also, if you work through an agency that contracts for home & office cleaning you can often "pick" your hours and area of your city. All of the specific places can be found by google. I have known people who are registered with multiple agencies and stay relatively busy all the time and make extra money. Most people that do this type of work don't wish to/or can't be tied to a set schedule and enjoy variety in their life. Another thought is to "pick up" left-overs from peoples Yard Sales (you can usually find a little neighborhood publicaton that allows free or close to free advertising) Clean out people's gaurage or attics and take the really bad stuff to the City's Collection Station, the remainder of your "treasures" you can dust or ake minor repairs or touch-ups and take to a local Flea Market on Sunday's and sell it. After gasoline, auto expense, disposable and Market Space Fees it will net you about 80% profit. There are many ways to survive out there. LOL, I know, I've done a whole bunch of them. When I've been so depressed that I was ready to end it all I have remembered the words of a dear old friend, "There's money in the street; you have to go out and pick it up" I try to treat everything as an exciting experience that I have been given for research for a character in a book ... or my life's experience. You are a creative lady. look around you. If you don't discount something because it doesn't appear to be something you would want to do, perhaps you'll find the right combination of activies that fit your personality and financial needs. Ask God for the light and you'll find the path. Best of luck in your search. Nicodema
I have another prayer request - please pray today that my back will be healed. It has seized up on me and is very painful since 2 days ago. I can't do anything at this point and I'm already starting to make contacts with people to do cleaning, etc. but I won't be able to in this condition!! Please pray for me. I don't know why I have to suffer through all these things AND not be able to earn a living. The pain is incredible. I can't see a doc, I have no $$ and no insurance. Thanks. Moderators Nan Posted April 6, 2005 Moderators Share Posted April 6, 2005 Will pray for healing for your back, Nico. Is your mate able to give you a massage? That can bring a little relief if not healing. Muscle spasm contributes quite a lot to the pain.
Nicodema
I'm going to see a chiropractor tomorrow. My mate said he will help me pay for it. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
