As police and fire officials continue to investigate what led to two young boys losing their lives in a North Versailles Township fire, those victims will be laid to rest.

A funeral has been set for Friday at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Hill District for KrisDon Pollard-Williams, 4, and KiDonn Pollard-Ford, 7.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation for the children will be tonight from 4-8 at Coston Funeral Home, 427 Lincoln Ave., in East Liberty.

Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church is located at 2340 Wylie Ave.

Investigators said the children were left home alone when the fire erupted in the early morning of June 30 in the third-floor apartment at Eastland Apartments along E. Pittsburgh-McKeesport Boulevard.

KiDonn died of carbon monoxide and cyanide poisoning at the scene, while KrisDon died a day later of an anoxic brain injury because of smoke inhalation, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office. KrisDon had been flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC after the fire.

Their mother Kiaira Pollard, 27, reportedly told police she was at work and a baby-sitter was supposed to be watching the children. A dead-bolted door hindered the rescue efforts of North Versailles police. Fire Department of North Versailles firefighters had to use a hydraulic tool to open the door.

The mother of the boys rushed home during the fire and had to be taken to UPMC Presbyterian for observation. Another woman also lived in the home with the children.

County police are investigating who is responsible for the boys being home alone during the fire and charges, if warranted, could be filed as early as next week.

The fire started in the apartment's master bedroom next to the boys' room, according to the Allegheny County Fire Marshal's office. An update on the fire investigation was not available by presstime.

That's so sad. When someone doesn't have enough money for daycare, and the person that's supposed to be there isn't...

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
