Hubby in Hospital

Michelle

Recommended Posts

Hi--keep my husband in your prayers. He was admitted to the hospital this afternoon with a severely painful and seemingly infected knee (bothering him since Sunday night our time--this is Wed. afternoon our time). They were to do an ultrasound to see if there was pus in the joint that would require surgery to clean. I don't know any more than that right now. I didn't go along to the hospital because too much with the boys, and it's at least an hour away using public transportation (and I REFUSE to drive there!!!!!).

Thanks.

M

Michelle, this has to be a source of concern for you and your husband. I will be earnestly praying for his quick recovery. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1_prayer001.gif" alt="" />

I will keep your hubby in my thoughts and prayers. Those infected joints can indeed be problematic. I have set lots of folks up for home IV antibiotic therapy as a result of those types of infections. Keep us informed. (I enjoy your posts, Michelle. Looking forward to getting to know you.)

Thanks for the prayers. After further testing, it appears the joint is not yet infected but is very inflamed (the norm on the test is 0-3 and David's number is 108). The doctor wants to keep him for observation at least through Sabbath afternoon, it sounds like.

Bobbie--yeah, my mom's a home care nurse in Loveland, and they deal with that kind of thing in the US, but here, people are not used to being at home and taking care of themselves at home--everything is done in the hospital, so that's where he is for now!

He asked if he could come home and keep it elevated, etc, and the doctor told him he'd rather have him bored with nowhere to go in the hospital than bored and getting up at home. Things are kind of touchy right now, I guess (I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV!).

anyway, thanks for the prayers. The boys are dealing with it fine. They felt a little strange last night going to bed without hugs and kisses from daddy, but they went to sleep with no problems.

I would like to share whats going on with me.

My mother is scheduled for open heart surgery in San Francisco Hospital. She is a diabetic. She isnt saved and cant stand SDA's. We lived next door to a nice SDA family growing up. My mom dont like christians anyway and she was raised catholic and never went to church when she became an adult. I gave my sister "The Passion of Love" by Ellen White (Desire of Ages Last chapters) and my sister is in LOVE with Jesus now(O God your so good!!!!) and wants to read more of her book!s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she is sharing her enthusiasm with mom and now my mom is open to the idea of actually reading a EGW book!!!! O pray for my mom's salvation. I have a peaceful sense that God is moving in these circumstances and I am rejoicing.

All progress in the Spiritual Life is knowing and Loving GOD

"there is non upon earth that I desire besides YOU" PS 73:25

That perspective changes EVERYTHING-suffering and adversity are the means that makes us hungry for GOD. Disapointments will wean us away wordly occupations. Even sin(when repented of) becomes a mechanism to push us closer to HIM as we experience His Love and Forgiveness.

I'm praying for your mother, G4J, and Michelle, for your hubby.

Sometimes these crises are what bring us to accept Jesus in our lives.

And God knows your mom's heart.

My DH came home on Sunday. Fortunately, I did NOT have to drive to pick him up--one of the faculty members from the college agreed to go get him. He has to stay off his leg again today and will try going back to the classroom tomorrow. I taught his lab class yesterday with his co-teacher, and the kids were very concerned (18 year olds). Several of them came over to see him yesterday afternoon. The boys are VERY happy that Daddy is home. My 5 year old had taken a stuffed animal to him on Friday, saying that when he slept with it Thursday night it was crying because it missed Daddy. He's also very concerned that the rest of the family not "catch" watever it was that Daddy had! Poor little guy.

anyway, thanks for the prayers. We're hanging in here, though I'm in the third day of a migraine so running on autopilot in teaching/keeping up the house. blech.

Oh, migraines ! I sympathize.

Haven't had many in my lifetime, but they're terrible. Several in my family have migraines frequently. Please know we're praying for you.

And glad hubby's back home and on the mend.

Michelle;

My prayers are with you and your family! I Praise God you have autopilot! I never did. I always went straight to shut down! I will add your migraine to the prayer for your husband and you and the children.

I am sure you have been a blessing to your husband’s students. Thank God for friends that will help in these circumstances. You didn't have to go get him in that traffic!

May God bring you immediate relief from you migraine!
