Is The TEA Party Clueless?

Recommended Posts

The TEA Party all jumped on the Perry bandwagon when he declared himself a candidate. Then they abandoned him because he favors giving all the children of Texas tax payers in-state tuition including those who may be in the country illegally.

So where did they go? They flock over to the candidate that wants to build an electric fence on the Mexican border that will kill those trying to cross it. If that is not enough, he also wants soldiers to be stationed behind the fence with live ammo so if some poor, peasant does happen to survive the electrical shock, the soldier can execute him immediately.

Wow! So the TEA Party says that instead of allowing tax-paying Texans (in the country illegally) to send their children to college, they should be electrocuted and if they survive that, shot until dead.

Curious.Where did you find that the Tea Party says the above?

I looked and couldn't find it.Maybe I am not looking in the right place.

Have read what Herman Cain said

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

I simply connect the dots. It's elementary.

No,that is how you wanted the dots connected because they do not agree with you

this is what you said........

I am glad to see we agree. Of course, that is rather obvious. Some people are just scared of those with a different color of skin that speak funny so they would rather electrocute them and then shoot them dead.

No Shane we don't agree. I do agree that we have another gospel according to Shane.

You are so obsessed with skin color and how people talk it says volumes about you.

Why the farce of immigration laws? It is a cruel joke on those that abided by the laws to come here.It is a burden on those that have to foot the cost.

Let them all in and do away with the pretense. Just put up a sign that says "Come One,Come All,we will feed clothe, give medical care and education to all".The "free lunch" will have to be picked up by someone. The "someone" will soon no longer be able to provide all the free lunches.

No you claimed to know a lot more.So the TEA Party says

Could there be a variety of reasons why people turned from Perry, the one that really enthused you?

Maybe just the fact that they were no longer enthusiastic about your guy is enough for you to connect your dots your way

Texas tea party makes new push on immigration bill

AUSTIN, Texas — A coalition of Texas tea party activists struck at Gov. Rick Perry on his home turf Thursday, demanding that he revive proposals to crack down on illegal immigration that stalled in the state Legislature.

Hailing from a smattering of grass-roots organizations, the activists held a news conference inside the state Capitol urging Perry to sign an executive order or call a special legislative session to ensure adoption of measures giving police broader powers to ask people they detain about their citizenship. It's a sensitive issue since Perry, who is vying for the Republican presidential nomination, has been branded by some conservatives as soft on immigration.

The group pointed to other states like Alabama and Arizona — which have used state measures to get tougher on illegal immigration — and asked why Texas can't do the same, instead of relying on federal enforcement.

"Governor Perry's decided, apparently, that he just needs to keep pointing the finger at Washington D.C., which absolves him of any responsibility," said JoAnn Fleming, chairwoman of the Tea Party Caucus Advisory Committee of the Texas Legislature.

Perry supports expanding police power as a means of detecting illegal immigrants, and made the issue a priority at the start of the legislative session in January — seemingly fast-tracking its passage. Republicans hold a supermajority in the House, which passed the measure during the regular session, and a majority in the Senate, which approved another version of it during a special session in June.

The measures were fiercely opposed by Democrats, and neither made it through both houses in the same session to become law. Now the Legislature is not scheduled to meet again until January 2013.

Thursday's activists had held a similar news conference in September and made virtually the same demands. "We do not intend to go away," Fleming said this time.

She said 16 Republican senators have now promised to vote in favor of the measure should it be revived — enough to pass the 31-seat chamber. She said Republicans in the House could then easily pass the bill, if Perry convenes a second special session.

"Because we have House support and the votes we need in the Senate, the governor has no excuse," Fleming said.

Perry spokeswoman Allison Castle said the governor supports legislation that would outlaw "sanctuary cities," where illegal immigrants know they can live and not have to face questions about their immigration status from police. But she also said there are no plans to call another special session.

"Gov. Perry trusts local law enforcement to use their training and judgment to inquire about immigration status during a lawful detention or arrest in Texas," she said.

Fleming has complained that the governor and key legislative leaders have been dismissive of their cause, telling activists to simply contact their local lawmakers.

Perry has slid in national polling while publicly defending his approval of in-state college tuition for children of illegal immigrants who attended high school in Texas. In Indianapolis on Wednesday, he talked tough on immigration, saying a failed, Iranian-backed terror plot coordinated in Mexico proves the U.S. must secure its southern border.

The tea party activists also mentioned the foiled plot, but claimed it showed how insecure Texas' border with Mexico is.

Those in favor of police quizzing detainees about their citizenship say it will help police fight crime committed by illegal immigrants. Opponents, including law enforcement chiefs in Texas' largest cities, say it will allow rogue officers to target Hispanics.

Roberto Gonzalez, a Cuban-American and chairman of the Clear Lake Tea Party, near Houston, countered that, "this is not an anti-Hispanic mission. This is a rule of law issue."

The activists suggested that police groups who oppose the crackdown are largely law enforcement unions who don't want to burden their membership with extra responsibilities.

"This just means they have to do their jobs," said Katrina Pierson, of the Dallas tea party.

More evidence on how thirsty for blood some of those TEA Party folks are. The Texas legislature meets every two years. These blood-thirsty TEA Party folks want Perry to call a special session of the legislature to try and revive a measure that failed to pass earlier this year during a regular legislative session.

He is running for President. He is not calling a special session of the Texas legislature.

Amazing. Before Perry was for ...Perry spokeswoman Allison Castle said the governor supports legislation that would outlaw "sanctuary cities," where illegal immigrants know they can live and not have to face questions about their immigration status from police.

Don't suppose he was tallying up the votes do you?

Back to ,Somehow this SAYS that the Tea Party is for electrocuting and shooting illegal immigrants.

Now please answer the question,Why don't we do away with immigration laws?

They are pointless and meaningless. Let everyone in. We tell them it is against the law and then make sure they know,We will provide them sanctuary cities where they are safe when they do so,we educate them,we give them medical care, make sure they have housing, and cannot be asked whether they are illegal or not.We dangle as many carrots as we can to make sure they come here, while telling them it is illegal to do so.

Any that disagree with those like yourself are automatically racist, bloodthirsty, and wanting them electrocuted.

In the unlikely event there would ever be such a fence it would make more sense than what is being done. Clearly warned and marked the carrots we dangle might not look so inviting.

At the time we lost our home in a tornado the governor called National Guard with orders to shoot on sight any looters.

No one wanted to see anyone shot, but it dampened the enthusiasm of the looters like right now.

Within a half hour of the tornado passing, looters were out.A clear danger to themselves and others. Amazing what the National Guard with guns did for their thinking process.

Walls on the border are good in populated areas. That is because without walls, illegal immigrants can come across the border and quickly get into a building or get picked up in a car or truck.

Walls serve little purpose in unpopulated areas because we don't have the manpower watching the wall. There is also no urgency to catch illegal immigrants quickly because in unpopulated areas we have time. The immigrants are on foot. They can be spotted with drones or stationed cameras. The Border Patrol can then go out and get the immigrants. There are hundreds of miles of border that goes through desert, unpopulated areas. A wall would be a waste of money and serve no purpose without man power watching it and if we invest the man power in these areas, we don't need a wall.

Most illegals that come here are looking for work. We need the workers. That is why they come. They fill a need. The solution is start a work visa program like the one that was cancelled in the 1960s. The solution is not making out-of-work architects, engineers, teachers and truck drivers pick tomatoes in the field.

Our biggest concern regarding controlling the flow of immigration is to keep out the undesirables. We don't want criminals trying to flee north away from authorities in Latin America. We don't want drug cartels members, petty drug runners or those with contagious diseases like TB or HIV. Right now, the undesirables are estimated at being about 10% of the illegals. If we can provide a path for the good guys (those just looking for work) we will drastically reduce the number coming across illegally. That will make it much easier to stop the undesirables.

The TEA Party followers like to say, "Stop them from coming first before dealing with those here" However it is unlikely we can stop those coming until we deal with those already here. A proposal supported by the Bush Administration would have given those here a 2-year work visa. That would require them to come forward, pay a fine, go back home and re-enter the country with their new visa. That would work.

If we invest the man power they may actually catch many. Can't have that, they have a different skin color and talk funny. That is racist.

We invest in the additional manpower only to stop the 10% which are the undesirables. We give work visas to the 90% and then we don't have to stop them - we can track them and make sure they go back when their visas expire. Nothing racist about letting the good 90% come in.

Right now we can only track those that come here on student or work visas. We do need more manpower to follow up on those and make sure they are going back home when their visas expire.

We can't track those that enter illegally. We don't know who they are. We estimate that 10% are the undesirables based on those we do catch. If we pass a work visa, like we had back in the 40s, 50s and 60s, we would know who is coming in, where they are working and where they live. We could track them.

That would drastically reduce the number trying to come across the border illegally. The ones with an incentive to cross illegally would be mostly the undesirables such as cartel members and drug runners.

TEA Party members just want to kill them all and make English the national language. Of course I don't support such an uncompassionate thirst for blood.

The fact they talk funny is probably what most frustrates those that hate them so. But... building an electric fence to electrocute them and arming soldiers to execute them is a bit over the top.

Quote:
We would only know those coming on a work visa.As long as the border situation is as it is they will continue to come.

No, a drastically smaller number would be trying to come across our border and a much higher percentage of them would be the undesirables. So it would make the border more manageable.

The key to keeping the peasants in Mexico is improving living conditions there. My sister-in-law's husband came to the US illegally when he was a teenager. He worked here for two Summers and earned enough to go back home and pay for his college education at the Adventist university in Costa Rica. Now he has no desire to come here except as a tourist - which he does with a tourist visa.

A two-year work visa will give poor Mexicans and Central Americans a chance to earn enough cash to go home and go to college, start a small business, buy a little farm or even a just a home. And many do that now except they are doing it illegally. The two-year work visa would provide the path.

It would also help Mexico grow economically as more returning immigrants return from the US to attend college and invest in Mexico. Mexico in return buys more American goods and services.

The anti-immigrant hate-mongers are wrong. We don't need to electrocute and execute poor peasants coming to our country for a better life. These immigrants have the same spirit as the pilgrims that sailed on the Mayflower and the pioneers that settled the West. We need to encourage them to come by providing a path way for them to do so.

Your heading into dangerous territory. You will be labeled a hate-monger.

Some confuse the word "rights" with privileges/helping hand.

There doesn't seem to be a end to the manufactured rights.

Coming to this country or any country not of your birth is a privilege. When the rights of those coming here obligates and negates the rights of those they make demands from,A right stops being a right.

When you don't want to learn english after being here a decade, don't demand the "right" to a interpreter at 45.00 an hour unless you pay.Don't demand food stamps, education, medical that you cannot pay for because of your failure.

All the above is provided as a helping hand/privilege,it is not a RIGHT.Meet those offering the help at least half way.
