Stan
Gilbert Eugene Favre was the middle child, the sole boy born smack in the middle of six sisters. His baby sister, Heather Molina, thinks growing up around so many women worked in his favor.“I think it made him a better man -- he was very respectful of women. He was a quiet man,” she said. Favre Favre died Dec. 19 at the age of 52. Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Gulf Coast Seventh-day Adventist Church in Biloxi, with a graveside service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery in Gulfport.“He was loving and loyal, and a real family man. He loved his family and his children,” Molina said. Favre was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed fishing off Moses Pier in Gulfport and going out to the islands. He was also a NASCAR fan and a football fan who was fond of the New England Patriots.Favre worked in construction and had helped rehabilitate some of the older homes in West Gulfport after Hurricane Katrina. He understood loss.“He was living in Saucier and lost everything when Katrina hit,” his sister said.Favre himself had a large family, with three sons and three daughters.“His oldest son had cystic fibrosis, and now that son is 35 years old,” Molina said. “They were told he wouldn’t live past 11.”In 2006, Favre had a stroke, which greatly affected his ability to speak and left paralysis in his right arm. With therapy, he learned to walk again, but he still couldn’t speak clearly.“But he could write anything he wanted to say.”Molina recalled one challenge that illustrated Favre’s qualities.“In 1999, his son had to have serious surgery, and they had to remove part of his right lung. Gil was determined his son would make it through,” she said. “I think it was his determination and persistence that helped his son through that night, and he’s doing well today.” Read more here: http://www.sunherald.com/2011/12/23/3650229/gil-favre-embodied-loyalty-and.html#storylink=cpy Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
Guest
I hope I see him in heaven. If we both make it, I will. Sounds like he was a good man.
