The secular mind

There are some parts of man that seem universal, no matter the culture.

For instance, most cultures I would think carry a similar sense of injustice. An adultery, murder, child rape- those things are considered morally bad.

The capacity or desire for love and acceptance within a person.

Tenderness for babies, whether animals or humans.

What else?

I am thinking of using this angle to talk to my father of spiritual things, who has always until now been atheistic. He's only recently shown an interest.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Gail, they are all good, safe topics on which you can agree. And, I do believe that agreeing is the key.

If he is showing an interest, them perhaps he will lead into

a subject that he is comfortable with discussing.
