Running Ahead of the Church?

I could think of some other titles for this topic, but that was probably the "kindest" I could come up with on the spur of the moment.

Who are these people?

Why are they attempting to manipulate us in what to believe?

Why have they run ahead of the church and are telling us what "ordination" means with a serious Papal slant to it without waiting for the church?

Why are they trying to get a majority rule position going in the church instead of an unbiased scripture based position?

What is Ordination?

Reading that article just reconfirms to me that we all have no idea what the Bible really says about ordination! Men or Women for that matter.

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

I have some thoughts about the title of this section, but other thoughts about the specific topic.

Sadly on this topic you have three sides, two of them are NOT willing to have unbiased scripture. You have liberals who believes that the ordination of men was based on culture and that we need to change to todays culture and that Paul was a victim of his culture. Then you have those who oppose women's ordiantion who use their proof texts but stop with a superficial reading of their favorite translations of the words as the final authority. Then you have those who study the so called proof texts and point out that they are not saying what we assume them to mean who argue that Paul not did not oppose women's ordination but that he supported women's ordination and that he would be shocked as to the controversy we have today. Biblical studies into the language and culture that show that women were ordained in both the Old and New Testament.

The question is how do you get people to look at the evidence?
