Chicago School System Closes Schools, Expands Sex Education

Matt C. Abbott

On March 21, Chicago Public Schools announced a mass school closing, a move the city's illustrious (ahem) mayor, Rahm Emanuel, supports.

From Reuters:

Chicago will close 54 schools and 61 school buildings by the beginning of the next academic year in the country's third-largest public school district, a move that union leaders called the largest mass closing in the nation.

The district will shutter 53 elementary schools and one high school by August, primarily in Hispanic and African-American neighborhoods. The district, which has a $1 billion annual deficit, has said it needs to close underutilized schools to save money....

The staff of the mayor, whose children attend private school, were not immediately available to comment on his whereabouts....

But have no fear--the children attending the remaining CPS schools, even those in kindergarten, will still learn how to engage in "safe" sex, and, if that fails, where they can go to get their abortions ... without having to be bullied by nasty heterosexuals.

From ChristianPost.com:

The Chicago Board of Education approved a new policy that will expand sex education to all grade levels in the Chicago public schools (CPS), including kindergarten, and will, for the first time, teach sexual orientation and gender identification.

Chicago has the third-largest public school system in the United States, and according to WGN-TV, more than 50 percent of all CPS students polled report they have engaged in sexual activity.

Since 2000, HIV diagnoses for Chicago students ages 15 to 19 has increase by more than 40 percent; and among all Illinois cities and counties, Cook County ranks highest in confirmed cases of gonorrhea and syphilis....

Well, at least King Rahm and his predecessor, Richard Daley, have something to be proud of--in addition to Chicago's high homicide rate, of course.

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.
