Need Help Understanding.

I would like to start off with the decree from Artaxerxes to rebuild the temple in 457 B.C. (Ezra 7:12-20, Daniel 8:14, Acts7:57-8:4, 22:20).

We get the start of this date from the 70 week prophecy:

Dan 9:24 NIV

Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven 'sevens,' and sixty-two 'sevens.' It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.

This is also the start of the 2300 day prophecy.

This start date is very important because it is the only one that will lead to the date of Jesus death and the cleansing of the sanctuary in 1844.

We SDA's can agree with this:

The last week of the 70 week prophecy reads like this:

Dan 9:27

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;

But in the middle of the week

He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.

And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,

Even until the consummation, which is determined,

Is poured out on the desolate.”

We believe that in the middle of the week when Jesus died; There was no more need for the sacrifice and offering.

From 457 bc to this time we come up with the date of 31 ad.

The 14th day of Nisan (Passover) was Wednesday April 25th.

I have looked at this from all directions and I cannot make a Sabbath rest on Thursday and a resurrection on Friday.

Can anyone help with this?

I'll go with Sister Whites account in the Desire of Ages myself.

It's not a new argument by any means. It's even been discussed here on many different threads. I can't help you with links or more info because I trust the account as given in Desire of Ages and don't want to spend any time chasing rabbits down empty holes.

the midst of the week was prophetic time a period of seven years. it was 3 1/2 years after he started preaching, the next 3.5 years was a great evangelism for the jews. then their special time was cut off.

he was arrested friday rested saturday raised sunday.
