Inga
Hi Stan, To make it easier, why not call it http://ShareHim.org. That's the new name, and it's so much easier to remember to spell correctly. (No hyphen.) I was at the BC Conference Boot Camp put on by Bob Folkenberg. As you know, it was awesome! I can't put it better than a friend of mine (who also signed up) put it at church today, "I believe the sermons and the program are inspired." The whole initiative reminds me of Ellen White's words that "The last movements will be rapid ones." Somehow I had usually applied that to political movements, but right now God's last message is spreading like wildfire -- certainly "rapid" movements. Although not part of the formal Global-Evangelism initiative the India Villages project is part of this "wildfire." My husband is going to India this November. Stan
I am so sorry we did not get to meet each other, that would have been great, We are scambling to catch up with all the interest we have in BC. There is a husband - wife team oging to the Island you may know them not sure if they have been notified yet... Inga
If the husband-wife team's surname is Anderson, I know them. That would be my son and daughter-in-law. I didn't ask them what time slot they signed up for. I was at camp meeting for only the first weekend. You seemed pretty busy, and I was pretty busy too. I thought I'd be back the second weekend, but it didn't happen. P.S. I appreciate the ironic disclaimers you put over the ad spaces. Administrators Naomi Posted August 8, 2005 Administrators Share Posted August 8, 2005 Yes, I am. Global Evangelism has been near and dear to me and family members for years. Family members have just concluded their third series this year. It was in Africa just after GC and was, as God always blesses greatly, a success. Will be doing the first trip in several years in the fall to Romania. Inga
Naomi, that sounds terrific! It seems that this Global Evangelism initiative has been a well-kept secret for too many years! Now the British Columbia Conference has definitely become involved, and it looks like our son and daughter-in-law will be speaking at one of the first campaigns. They were originally signed up separately but then found out that they'd hardly see each other. And that's not the way they like to do things. They figured that they are more effective visiting together. So one evangelism spot has just been opened up in BC on the Island, I believe. Maybe Stan will take that one? (Our son tried to talk me into it, but it's not the right time for me.) Quote "Worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of water." Administrators Naomi Posted August 11, 2005 Administrators Share Posted August 11, 2005 Inga, I am glad that your son and daughter-in-law found a way to participate in a speaking position and be together. That's an accomplishment. They will be richly blessed. It's too bad that you can't also go. Perhaps soon you will. The Devil is always actively working to prevent God's work going forward. While I hate to Give the Old Guy too much credit he does seem to make it difficult for anyone planning these trips. God is greater! Prior to a GM Trip, for most people something always seems to happen to make it difficult or impossible. For me it is finances, all the funds I had set aside for this trip were spent on mother's medical needs. But, I have faith that I can work something out. This week the lady who was going to travel with me and speak, sister suffered a serious stroke and there is no one else to care for the sister. Last evening she said, "Well, we still have 81 days and I feel God will find a way." Without a doubt, Global Mission trips prove that you have to give to receive. Local churches, and their members, benefit greatly from those who do the evangelistic trips. Enthusiasm is contagious and those who go return filled with a new appreciation for the Gospel and confidence in sharing it with the members in their local community.
