Stan
I spent the last week in a place called Colorado Springs, a nice place in Colorado, some of you may have heard of both this City and the State Nice place....... Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted August 14, 2005 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2005 A beautiful town. Did you visit the Air Force Academy? and Pike's Peak? Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional....
Moderators LynnDel Posted August 14, 2005 Moderators Share Posted August 14, 2005 Colo Spgs is my "home town" if I can claim one. When we visited there two years ago I was shocked at the traffic and growth (I guess everyone else likes the place as much as I did growing up), that they didn't let visitors go to the Air Force Academy (post 9-11 cautions, I guess), that Manitou Spgs no longer has a cable car going up the side of Pikes Peak, and that climbing is no longer allowed on the rocks at the Garden of the Gods. We did enjoy the hailstorm we experienced while walking in the GOG, though - that brought back memories. LD Quote LD
Administrators Naomi Posted August 14, 2005 Administrators Share Posted August 14, 2005 When my husband was in the air force he was stationed in Colorado Springs. It brings back a lot of memories As it is still in my territory I return on occasion. LynnDel I also miss the memories of the things we could enjoy in "the good 'ol days" ALso, the weather patterns appear to have changed. During the years we lived there you could set your clock by the 2pm rain-shower. It no longer appears reliable. Stan, did you enjoy the sights of the Rockies? Administrators Gail Posted August 14, 2005 Administrators Share Posted August 14, 2005 I think that there is a hot spring there for nudists- how was it? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. Michelle
a hot spring for nudists in Colorado Springs? First I've heard of that! But I'm a northern Colorado person, so don't know the south as well. The growth along the Front Range is pretty astounding! We moved away from Colorado 11 years ago and could never afford to move back, at least purchasing a home. My home town is almost unrecognizable from when I was growing up. My parents used to be out in the country--dirt roads and lots of empty space for riding our horses. Now everything is paved and filled in with huge houses built by the California refugees. Yuck! My parents jokingly speak of moving back to Wyoming to find some space. Michelle
Fran
We lived at the Air Force Academy for 4 some years. I never wanted to leave! When new orders came in. We were off to Japan for 4 years. That was glorious too! Most of God's earth reveals magical wonders to behold. In CO we had many, many self invited guests. We loved it. Fran
Stan; One day my husband said, "We got orders today for Blytheville AFB." (It is pronounced bly’-vull) I had never heard of it so I asked, "What country would that be in?" It ended up being in Arkansas. My excitement temporarily fizzled. I love seeing the world! However, the airlines refuse to allow me to fly. I might explode and cause a crash! So, if there is anyone wishing to donate a motor home to me so I can travel just send me a PM and I will get someone to get it. They let people put oxygen in those vehicles.
