Things are getting a little livelier with the onset of the national election campaign in Liberia.

Violence with the election coming up in October is feared. This is the first election since the ousting of the former dictator Charles Taylor

I would like to pray for the Kevin's safety

Thanks <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Gail,

I thought I answered this earlier today ... must be loosing it! <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I thought of Kevin as I was listening to a news account of the happenings in Libera and said a prayer for him.

He has been on my prayer list since he went and will continue to pray for his safety.

It is difficult for the family back home to know their child is in a war torn country. Send him lots of love and pray of positive prayers.

Thanks, Naomi <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I was doing some surfing on the Net and found this writeup on the best hotel Monrovia has:

"Liberia is extremely unstable i went to visit my uncle who is a missionary there . someone was killed 2 blocks from the hotel 1st night i was there and i almost bought it when i was robbed in monrovia in broad daylight. if you like action adventure then this is the place"

I guess there are a few places in the world like this, like maybe some big N. American cities, but this excerpt sounds typical of life over there

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Doesn't sound like a place I would want to visit. OTOH, Dallas news reports sound much the same. God can protect us anyplace.

When my brother, wife and small children lived in The Congo they closed the boarders several times, changed out the money, censored the mail, and raided missions, etc. It was really difficult being here and hearing about the events. Thankfully we did not have the news and net coverages that we have today. I don't think Mother could have survived at home. Poor thing would have been on her knees praying 24/7.

Courage my friend,

Naomi

Kev has been in my prayers and will continue until he returns to safer ground. Am so sorry to hear about his having a wormy parasite.

With Rikki & Kev you have to be on overload just now.

Praying for their recovery, safety and for your strength!

Love Ya'

I talked to Kevin this morning and he is feeling much better. He says that the worm went away quickly (thanks, Lord!)

Thanks for the effectual prayers of you righteous people- we appreciate it very much! <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Its a special kind of person who can commit themselves to the poor even knowing of the peril to their heath and wellfair. Praise God for the blessings to Kev and company.
