cricket
This was in my personal e-mail inbox yesterday. If nothing else, we can lift up this man and his family in prayer: Quote: Dear Friends, Last week one of my good friends was in a small plane accident. His name is Jim Kincaid. He has been a faithful pastor and worked in the Alaska conference for many years. Jim and his wife have dedicated their lives to help others, especially the Native populations in the far North of Alaska. I have flown with him on numerous occasions and he is one of the finest Christian men you will ever meet. They are facing some real challenges now financially and the Conference is asking for help. I have attached a letter below and would like to suggest for those who are able to pitch in and let's help to the best of our ability. Tamara and I would like to request to all of those who were planning to donate to the All Power ministry in August to donate to Jim's cause if you would be comfortable to do so. Let's make a difference together! Sincerely, Leo and Tamara Schreven Friends, PS - Some of you may be aware that Jim Kincaid crash landed an airplane in south Texas a couple of weeks ago. He was severely burned while escaping the plane which was totally destroyed. Here is some update information from the Alaska Conference President. Please keep Jim and Linda in your prayers. DearPastors and Teachers; As you areaware of Jim’s accident I won’t cover all the details again. Jim was moved to the Legacy Emanuel Hospital Burn Center in Portland, Oregon today. He will have very limited capabilities to have visitors and will not be able to accept flowers. Please refer to www.alaskaconference.org for more information. Updates are being posted on a daily basis. I have had numerous inquiries from those who are aware of the financial burden of an accident like this and who would like to assist Jim and Linda monetarily. I want to request of you that you make an announcement to your congregations directing those who would like to help to do the following: Go to any branch of the Wells Fargo Bank, Account # 8147012150 and make a donation there to the “Kincaid Assistance Fund.” Their travel and medical bills are mounting and the plane was not insured so this will be a heavy loss to both of them. Thanks for all your support of Jim and Linda. It is truly appreciated. Blessings Keep Looking up! KenCrawford
Clio
I know Jim and Linda. Jim and Linda minister together. They have an awesome connection with the youth in our congregations and are friendly, warm, wonderful people. Jim has a special burden for First Nation peoples, and flies constantly to the bush villages where the only place to land his plane is on the gravel bar in the middle of the river. Or the lake... Or the unpaved runway. Jim is an excellent bush pilot and transports other ministers around the state. Truly the Adversary was trying to shut down a very bright light that shines for Jesus in the Alaskan bush. The last time I saw Jim and Linda they were part of a musical group that came to North Pole from Delta Junction. Jim plays the guitar and sings. The group of people all played instruments, sang, posted the words so the audience could sing with them, and performed some awesome traditional and bluegrass old time country gospel sing along songs. There was piano, guitar, saxophone, banjo, AWESOME praise and singing that afternoon. Since our church doesn't have much in the way of music on a regular basis this was an awesome special treat. Jim always has time for the kids... to listen to them, to play with them, to sing with them, to answer their questions. He is one of the two pastors who baptized my eldest daughter in the lake at campmeeting 3 years ago. Please consider helping them monetarily. Jim losing his airplane, and not being able to participate in the far-flung ministries that are Alaska, is going to leave a huge hole in a conference already on the edge of civilization. Please pray without ceasing for Jim, Linda and their 3 children. Their kids are grown not little. Thank you for your prayers, and if possible, financial support. Clio
Hello special friends, Each of you has been so supportive by email, cards, flowers, fruit baskets, care boxes, phone calls, and even visits. We can’t thank you enough for your loving care and prayers for us. Even though we have not answered each message that came in we want you to know that we have read and saved each one and been given just the courage that was needed for that day. And we want to also acknowledge all of the prayers of those who do not know us at all; thank you to those who have initiated these dozens of prayer chains all over the country. We have been very blessed by each of you. The past few days have been pretty quiet. We did do a couple of outings away from the house but mostly Jim has been in the recliner with his legs up, either sleeping or reading. Each day has been better than the day before with more mobility, less pain and less area needed to be covered with dressings. Today was the follow-up visit to the doctor after Jim was discharged from the Burn Center last Wednesday. Dr. Eshraghi is very happy with the healing that has taken place so far and has released us to return to Alaska. Tomorrow afternoon we will fly from Portland back to Anchorage and we are thrilled. There will be some therapy visits to the Providence outpatient clinic and exercises to do at home but the prognosis is for a full recovery over the next couple of years. It has been a incredible journey the past almost 4 weeks – thank you again for being with us in thoughts and prayers. Jim and Linda Quote A heart where He alone has first place.
