Stan Posted June 16, 2013 Share Posted June 16, 2013 Mary E. Byrd, 95, of Holland, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at Resthaven Care Center following a lingering illness. Mary was born September 27, 1917, in Mississippi to B.B. Hall Sr. and Geneva Hall. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Genoa Byrd, and children Lawrence Stephens, John Stephens, Billy Joe Stephens, and Mary De Boer. She is survived by her sons, Ben and Marguerite Darlene Stephens of Holland, Grady “Frank” Stephens of Holland, daughter-in-law Ovella Stephens of Zeeland, and son-in-law Larry De Boer of Holland; 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Flora Patterson of Myrtle Mississippi and sister-in-law Annie Mae Hall of Tupelo, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland. Pastor Jarod Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Sunday at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery in New Albany, Mississippi.
