Neil D
Quote: Neil, see also the stats I quoted above: 4 mpg on average across all vehicles would make the US energy independent. 7 is not insignificant! Well, my pocket book is not convinced as yet. Close, but not yet. 7 mpg X 12 gal [the average fill up on my truck] is 84 miles which is an hour and half in the car for me. Or an extra $12 per fill up. Filling up 6 times [Yes, I have a long distance to work and not by choice:( ] per month is about $72 per month extra for a car payment. So, yeah, it's not lost to me, and if money were not so much of an object [iOWs, in better financial position than I am now], I would be seriously concidering it. Shane, Quote: If the government were to offer a $4K tax credit to everyone that bought a hybrid car they would start selling like hotcakes. you need to see the main forum regarding tax credits. I posted it there, but you can access the URL here And regarding- Quote: Back to our good old brother in Christ, Pat Robertson... I really have a hard time calling him "brother in Christ" when he advocates death of an individual. I kinda get all choked up when things like this are said...you know, the type that Bravus exhibited, not the teary kind. By the way, Bravus, you want a drink of water? Dr. Shane
Not only do the tax credits need to be more for hybrids but the cars that can use E85 fuel should have tax credits too. That is in the process of happening but who knows how much they will be. I think they should be signifficant, like $3K-$5K. As far as calling someone a brother in Christ, well if they claim to be one I call them one. I once heard Rev. Jesse Jackson say that Christians shouldn't prosetlyze and I wondered, how can someone claim to be a Christian and nulifiy the great commision. But I am not a judge. If Rev. Jesse Jackson claims to be a Christian I will call him a brother. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Ron Lambert
Shane, that statement by Col. Hunt reminds me of a virtually identical statement made by Col. Oliver North to a Senate committee about ten years ago, where he said Osama bin Laden is the most evil man on earth and should be elminated by any means avaliable. The committee members, especially the Democrats, took exception to his virtual call for assassinating bin Laden, and ridiculed him. About five years later came 9/11. After that, most of us wished the CIA had taken him out.

It soils the name, in my opinion and also, in my mind, soils Christ and His good name. I concider myself blessed if I achieve the name "friend", no matter if it is a Christian or non-Christian who gives that to me as I try my best not to mess up that status between me and the other person. Dr. Shane
Didn't Jesus call the guy at the wedding without a garment "friend"? <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Neil D
I was thinking that Abraham was mentioned twice in the bible as "God's friend"....
