cricket
I know we have a section for prayer, but this is an URGENT request for a loved one. Please, remember Tom Borak in your prayers today. He is my brother-in-law. Yesterday he left a suicide note with his wife and he is now missing. The police have issued an APB for him and we are in desperate need of prayers to our Savior. Please, join me in my prayer urgent pleadings with God that Tom be found safe, and that he be found ready to surrender his life to our Lord. With much thanks and appreciation, Christine Wall

Fran
Chyrs; My prayers are with Tom, his family and yours. I hope you have good news soon. God is love and Tom is NOT alone. Remember, God is right there and Tom’s guardian angels are right by Tom’s side also. When people reach the bottom there is no place to look but up. Temptations come, but God has promised not to give Tom more than he can bear. The Lord always has an alternative path. I am praying Tom will see God's plan for his life. Psalms 23:1 - 6 (KJV) 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Quote The greatest want of the world is the want of men who will not be bought or sold, men who in their inmost souls are true & honest, men who do not fear to call sin by its right name, men whose conscience is as true to duty..., men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.{Ed 57.3}

cricket
How hard this is to write. How difficult to understand! Oh, dear Lord! My brother-in-law was found deceased this afternoon. For reasons that I cannot fathom, God has let him take his own life. Come, Lord Jesus! Come. Praise be to God for the blessing of friends! Please, keep us all in your prayers. Pray especially for his wife Sandy. She is still young--a young wife--only 33. She is hurting so very deeply. Please pray that she will find some sort of peace in all of this. And, please, if you have any wisdom to share, please do. I am in need of godly wisdom at this time. I need your prayers for guidance. Administrators Naomi Posted August 26, 2005 Administrators Share Posted August 26, 2005 Chrys, Oh how I wish I had words of wisdom to make this a little easier. Time is a wonderful friend. I shall be praying that Sandy will find peace, and for God's arms to hold each of you close to his breast until the pain subsides. there buster
Quote: if you have any wisdom to share, please do. I am in need of godly wisdom at this time. I need your prayers for guidance. Words are powerful, but they are never enough. The only thing I can do is repeat what a wise man some years ago said. A man who had been a missionary, a Bible teacher, and a pastor took his life. Many, many kept telling his widow it was the "unpardonable sin." But a wise man of God comforted her, saying, "Sometimes, when Satan comes after a man, there's just nothing left to resist with." This man's death says nothing about his character, it says nothing about his Chrisitian experience, it says nothing about how supporting his widow has been; all it says is that that he experienced a moment of despair beyond which he could no longer see. In a moment of weakness, he took the only way out he could see. But he is not solely or totally responsible for this. His widow and friends are not responsible. Satan is responsible, and the day is coming that he will held responsible. Quote: The wages of sin is death. (Rom 6:23) On the cross, Jesus accepted those wages for all who trust in Him. But those who reject him must receive payment. Satan has been piling up “earnings” a long time in heaven’s ledger. At His return, Jesus will settle that long overdue account, when the lake of fire consumes Satan. And then, with all accounts settled, “Death and hell [will be] cast into the lake of fire.” (Rev 20:14) So it will be that, “The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” (1 Cor 15:26) Your Last Enemy SIGNS, Sept. 2003 It's easy for us to start piling recriminations on one another when such a thing happens, but we must remember who is really culpable, here. And be assured that Christ, who experienced the anguish of separation from the Father, and the weight of our sin, can sympathize with a merely human being burdened with despair. So do not let your heart be troubled. A mansion has been prepared for your brother-in-law, and he may yet inhabit it. It's in God's hands. And in those nail-marked hands is the best place for any of us to be. NormF
Ed is very right. In this imperfect world, bad things do happen. And the Father, and we His children, are not the architect of such dismal outcomes. My prayer now is for you, Chrys, and your family members ... for courage and grace and understanding. Bless you, and may God give you comfort and strength. Let yourself and those you love rest in Him. He will carry you through. Clio
Oh Chrys, ((((((Chrys))))))) I am so sorry that Tom was found after taking his own life. I can only reflect on your statement that Abba allowed him to take his own life. That is an anguish that only someone who has stared a needless death in the face and begged Him for understanding can truly appreciate. But Chrys, contained in your statement is the absolute truth and why we love True Jesus and Abba. He let Tom do what he did. Abba did not take away Tom's free will, not even when Tom's free will led him to do what he did. It's why we are on Abba's side in this war and not the Adversary's. Suicide is so contrary to Abba's designing of us, that I believe it to be a product of illness, whether it is recognized or not. Only Abba Father and the Holy Spirit truly know what was in Tom's heart, and I know in my knowing place They will judge fairly and with compassion. The Bible tells us that True Jesus draws near to those with a broken heart. We are reassured that True Jesus is with us always, even to the end of the age. How Their hearts of Love must be aching for the pain in Sandy's heart, in your heart, and the rest of the family's hearts. I am sure that They desired him to live, and grieved mightily as They watched his preparations. *tears* Chrys, I am so sorry for your loss and my heart aches for Sandy. And I am but a frail imperfect human, who cannot encompass the depth, bredth, and height of Their love for Tom and Their desire for him to live. Rest in the arms of Abba, Chrys. Crawl up into His lap, cry all you need to, and let Abba comfort you in ways only He can. ((((((((Chrys and Family)))))))))) Clio Quote A heart where He alone has first place. It is so painful. I will be praying for yoru and your family and asking God to comfort you all. He knows why, he knows Tom's burdens and he crys with you. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord make his face to shine upon you and your family and give you peace. Moderators Bravus Posted August 27, 2005 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2005 Just heard of a virtually parallel case with friends in Denmark. 1. I guess this actually just happens all the time, all over the world, to all sorts of people. It's just synchronicity that it happened close to me twice this week. 2. Come soon and take us home, Jesus. 3. Perhaps the hardest work, in some ways, is being with the bereaved in the short, medium and long term: prayers for you as you do this.
