However under the circumstance he did the right thing. He got the girl pregnant and married her. That is what we want. That is what makes for a functioning society - mom, dad, kids and favorite pets. As society we should give them the support they need to make the marriage work (education, drug rehab, counseling, etc.) If they stay together, when she is 23 and he is 31 they will not even draw any attention to themselves. The State should be considering what is in the best interest of the child. It does not serve the best interest of the child for the father to be in jail. Now if the father had not married the girl and was a "part-time" dad (if that), the circumstances would be different. In this case, it is clearly in the best interest for the family to stay intact. More hypocrisy.... You can have 6 girl friends, sexually...but if you marry all 6 you are breaking the law. More hypocrisy. I also agreed that the mother did the right and sensible thing in allowing her 13 years old daughter to marry the 21 years old man for the sack of the child and their well beings.
