Dr. Shane
It has been some time since Nico has posted here. Does she know she is missed, has she regestared under a new nick and/or is she just lurking? Has anyone been in contact with her? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Michelle
When I came back from China, she's one of the names I checked for right away. She posted last on the day I left for China. I miss her and have been praying for her every day, whatever is happening with her. {{{{{{{{nico}}}}}}}} M
Moderators Nan Posted September 2, 2005 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2005 I gather a couple of people have heard indirectly about Nico - that she got a new job - but do not know anyone who has heard directly from her - like others here I continue to pray for her. Dr. Shane
I believe someone in the "Off Topic" thread was asking about Nico. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Neil D
Derranged Scene: From the movie "Pollyanna" If you remember the movie, toward the last of the movie, Polyanna has fallen from the tree. The next scene is the morning after her fall, and starts out with her male friend throwing pebbles up to her window sill. Niiiiiicco! Come out an' play! Niiiiiico! We want to see your posts! Moderators LynnDel Posted September 5, 2005 Moderators Share Posted September 5, 2005 Neil is neither weird nor queer, sometimes strange, usually funny unless protecting his male ego, and is probably afflicted with ADHD, or likes to pretend he is. Of course, some may differ. . . LD P.S. Not to forget this - Nico, I miss you too! Quote LD
Neil D
Wow! I recall a scene from Pollyana, and apply it to Nico, and you guys call ME weird! :eyesroll: [shaking head and wondering where in the world people come from ] Lynndel, Does Neil protect his male ego? Maybe, but I definately like to play with the male/female foibles that each gender has. It makes for good laughts. Am I afflicted with ADHD or pretend that I am?? Hmmmm, I am not sure where you got this idea....But what the heck...For a laugh, I'll go with it...I have broad shoulders....And being the spouse of a Principal/teacher, I do have an inside track on teachers personalities in general. And I will, most assuridly, have some fun with them.... And Nico, I have seen you post, not too long ago, and I miss your posts. You can come a play in my yard anytime... Pockey
Hey, don't trip. I'm probably weirder than you are. The awesome news is, it's time to rejoice because Nico is back!!! Does she know she is missed, has she regestared under a new nick and/or is she just lurking? Thanks everyone for all your emails, thoughts, prayers, etc. I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond to everyone yet. I started a new onsite gig last month which has taken up much of my time. I originally stopped coming here sometime over the past few months mainly because there seemed to be this big lull and whenever I came there wasn't anything new posted or any new topics that really interested me. Plus there were other things. I got really tired of reading stuff that brought me down instead of being uplifting. I got sick of the levels of ignorance and hypocrisy exhibited by a few here and feeling helpless to do anything about it. Sure that's all small stuff but added to the ways in which I've been changing personally, it just added up to my not being here, not having any real reason to be here. And I don't know if I'm coming back. Full time I mean. I might, I might not. I might just drop in here or there, I might find something to engage me here and stay awhile, or I might start off that way, get sick of the "BS", and give up. I don't know if I really belong here at this point or if this would even be a safe and nurturing place to explore my spiritual questions, leanings, ideas, etc. But I thought I'd say hello to everyone, send my love, and thanks for thinking about me. Hope you all are well. (I know one of you is not, and I seriously owe you an email - it's coming). Nico Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Dr. Shane
Well, I hope you keep coming around, even if it is only once a week. If the disagreement in some threads is too disturbing you can always just avoid those forums. You have been a positive assest to the Sabbath School Study forum where there has been little disagreement like some of the other forums that invite debate within the arena of ideas. If you should decide to leave us, I hope you go with the blessing of God and that this site has brought you closer to the steps of our lovely Savior. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Fran
Nico; I have missed you. Welcome home. Yes, I have honestly, truthfully, really missed you! Thanks Taylor...I appreciate it...Now, I am [ahem] going to get on my soapbox for just a moment. Pay no attention to what I am about to say... As for the Rest of YOU...SEE! Someone likes my stuff. [steping off soapbox] You have to understand, Taylor, that after a while, you get to know the people who post here, even if they don't know you. I know Lynndell, and as for her remarks, well, she's a teacher. I have intimate knowledge of teachers as I am married to one. And Lynndell, well, she's finally getting in a few good licks in. Me, well, I still trying to make hay out of that horse manure... All in good fun of course. As for Sid, well, he's coming from somewhere and catchin' me off guard. Don't worry...I have patience, and he's still on the radar scope...I'll find a way to git back at 'im. Nico, you following any of this?? Taylor
It has occured to me, from being other online forums or chatrooms, that one of two things happen....either people are treated the way people should be treated without respect to gender, race, age, good looks (or lack thereof) etc, just because there is nothing to base their opinion since people can be quite anonymous, OR they can be unbelievably sharp in what they say, more so than (hopefully) they would ever be in "real life" face to face. I hope any tears shed here are from happiness, not pain. There is enough pain in this world. Thanks for being a positive influence on this message board.
