For those of you who do not know, this fault goes near Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. There are often swarms before the larger quakes.

Remember, Mrs. Gray told you first. Get ready.

Thanks Mrs. Gray,

Lovely. I am becoming paranoid. Everyplace I go or am preparing to go a disaster seems to happen! Or, perhaps it is just that I travel too much.

Spending time until end of month between LA & San Francisco.

Re: "There has been a remarkable swarm of small and moderate earthquakes near the California/Mexico border today, including SEVERAL above a 4.0."

Oh?

The listing cannot be determined to either be remarkable, or not to be remarkable, as there is nothing to compare this list to.

If this listing is acutally a reduction in earthquakes over a simular timeperiod, it may be remarkable, but as a decrease, and not an increase.

If this listing is an increase over a simular time period, it may or may not be remarkable.

Further, it may not be informational to compare the gross nubmer of earthquakes that occured during that time period. More information is provided when one compares the frequency of the magnitude.

If I were to say that 700 earthquakes of a 1.1 magnitude had occured, would probably be less remarkable than if I were to say that 20 earthquakes of a 7.5 magnitude had occured. From this perspective, one needs to consider, and evaulate the listing in terms of magnitude before one can say that it is remarkable. This evaulation may need to be done in reference to what commonly occurs during a stated time period.

Folks, I have read MG for a long time. I have come to the point where I beleive the MG knows and accepts what I have just posted. I suspect the MG was simply attempting to make a point that raw data must be evaulated and intrepreted before using it is draw conclusions.

Gregory -

There IS something to compare this list of quakes to. The historical data is that there has NOT been this kind of clustering in the Salton Sea area that includes multiple magnitudes of 3's and 4's and as of this am 5's!

There are a number of amateur EQ watchers who trade info over the internet on earthquake watching boards. One of them I frequent has excellent researchers with data going back 10 years or so...

This swarm currently has them all in a tizzy because of the magnitudes, the number, and the unusualness of it.

It definitely bears watching.

I'm not saying something IS going to happen, just that it bears watching.

Folks, Mrs. Gray has been reading Gregory Matthews' posts for a long time and knows when he's attempting to sound like an expert without doing any research into the subject, when he didn't bother to click on a link that Mrs. Gray supplied that would give him all the information he needs to know that this is remarkable, particularly when there were several 4's and even a 5.1 in one day, and when it was reported as a swarm by http://www.kesq.com/Global/story.asp?S=3797585, and by http://www.thedesertsun.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050902/NEWS07/509020317 ("Earthquake Swarm Rattles Experts"), and by http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/state/20050831-1850-ca-californiaearthquakes.html, and by http://www.kpho.com/Global/story.asp?S=3797628 and that even he knows that the San Andreas fault runs beneath the major cities on the West Coast and therefore it is something worth your attention if you live anywhere near it.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gray <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/talk2hand.gif" alt="" />

It has been widely believed by most Americans that New Orleans was the most wicked city in America, where the government officially tolerated and welcomed the celebrations of public lewdness. Now New Orleans has become the first city we as a nation have ever had to abandon--at least for three months, and possibly for years.

It is also the common perception of most of us that San Franciso is right up there with New Orleans in wickedness. This earthquake swarm has to be very cautionary to us: Is judgment about to fall on San Francisco, as well?

How long do we expect God to be willing to endure the burden of the gross sinfulness of many of our cities? He is surely getting tired of this knowledge of sin we subject Him to. Surely He will reach the limit of His patience, and begin putting an end to the worst of it.

Oh Puhleeeze Ron!

It's not about punishing the regions. It's about the fact we are into the last days and the birth pangs are increasing in number, intensity, and frequency.

It's about the Adversary's need to get a mark on 99% of an evangelical Christian population who is wary of the "Mark".

It's about True Jesus coming in glory. Abba isn't doing this yet... He's just withdrawing His Spirit from the earth.

What then follows is natural... and falls on everyone. When Abba starts pouring out His wrath, those sealed for Him, will be spared.

Quit spreading this [censored]. You are painting a false picture of the Abba we serve. We serve a loving, living Abba who is still wooing the lost. The Veil of Mercy obtained through the shed Blood of the Lamb of Abba still covers the earth for His Spirit is not yet completely withdrawn.

Do not spread a picture of a vengeful God, when such is not the case. He abhors sin, but He loves the sinner more. This is not His doing as He has not yet begun to pour out His wrath.

When He begins to pour out HIS wrath... believe me, it won't take a website to tell us.

The Earthquake swarm you are reffering to is in Imperial valley south of the sultan sea. This is in the area of the Imperial fault which runs to mexico. It is NOT the San Andreas. Get your facts straight and stop trying to post a sensational post that has nothing to do with the San Andreas.

And Yes I got the above info from MG links. Seems he did not read it himself. mittelgr124.gif

Not likely as this swarm is 600 miles to the south and NOT even on the San Andreas fault.

Dear individuals,

Mrs. Gray stands corrected regarding the San Andreas fault. She read the following paragraph:

</font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />

"The temblors have been in the Brawley seismic zone, which is known for having many quakes that strike closely together. The zone runs north to south and is connected on its northern end to the San Andreas Fault and its southern end with the Imperial Fault."

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

and made that assumption. She was wrong, it is in the Zone that is bordered by the San Andreas Fault - it was not on the fault line itself. It was next to it.

This is a very important point that Mrs. Gray missed. Like Bruce said, this swarm probably has nothing at all to do with the San Andreas fault, and might as well have been on the moon.

For more information about the layout of the desert faults, visit http://seis.natsci.csulb.edu/deptweb/SkinnyCalSites/Colorado/Coloradosum.html

Obsidian Butte is next to the Salton Sea, and the San Andreas fault jogs around the right side of the Salton Sea. So these earthquakes are obviously not related to the San Andreas fault at all.

Mrs. Gray is sorry about being so misleading as to suggest that this swarm is anywhere near the San Andreas fault.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gray

[:"white"] Obviously, Mrs. Gray is being sarcastic here. It's right next to the San Andreas Fault, any idiot can see that. This type of logical revelation is frequently followed by an ad hominem attack on Mrs. Gray because the guy in the prior post won't be able to make an argument for "nothing to do with it" that makes logical sense. The fact that it's not actually on the fault line is a technicality since the line is rather narrow - virtually everything said to be "on the fault" is next to it. It's like saying someone has a house "on the river." Unless there's a houseboat, it's understood to be "next to the river." Also, he'll probably go around to see if Mrs. Gray has written anything else in white under any other messages. She would suggest he go back at least 2 years to find the good stuff.[/]

Now, that is kind of scary because Vancouver Island runs along the San Andreas fault and we have been told for some time to expect the big one. Paranoid? Yes, probably but, you never know. We are prepared........

MG & Clio:

Yes, I did click on the link, and then I went further and followed up on other links.

Yes, I was aware of the 3, 4, and more magnitude quakes listed.

I still say that one cannot reasonable say that such is remarkable, unless one has compared another time period, and determined what is typical. That information was not presented to us.

Dear person,

It is what it is. If it's not "remarkable" to you, then so be it. People have varying degrees of sensitivity to this kind of thing. It was obviously "remarkable" to the news sources Mrs. Gray lovingly linked to.

How do we know it was remarkable to them? Well . . . eh hem . . . they remarked on it.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gray

Clio, you obviously did not read what I actually wrote.

Those of you who deny any spiritual lessons to be learned by insisting that God would never "punish" a particular city, please explain Sodom and Gomorrah.

And let me also add, at some point God is going to come to the end of His patience with Laodicea, and will administer the rebuke AND CHASTENING that He promised.

Did God really punish Sodom and Gomorrah? Or, did He just obliterate them from the planet? Like He did with the flood, God merely wiped the entire face of evil from that city.

New Orleans was not entirely obliterated.

There was quite a lot of New Orleans which was not obliterated. And, Ron, if God did this because of the sin within the City how do you explain all the other towns along the Gulf Coast which were wiped out?

If you think about the word punishment, it would connote (IMHO) people being around to suffer whatever is meted out and hopefully learn from it. Sodom & Gomorrah was totally obliterated along with the people, sans Lot etal. That is not punishment. It's execution.

That's what I was thinking, too. God didn't really punish the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, He removed the life from them.

Out of curiosity, is there anywhere in the Bible that God does, indeed, punish people for their sins?
