Administrators Naomi Posted September 4, 2005 Administrators Share Posted September 4, 2005 Oh here it is ... vanished for a moment. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Sorry, can't vote. Logic tells you both are strange. Emotion and appreciation for the cultural, social, scenic and economic locations make me glad to have had the opportunity to have enjoyed cities in both categories. ~~~~~~~~~~~ However, this week I have been reminded of the old song from Sabbath School. "The wise man builds his house upon a rock ..." OTOH, cities built on major faults are build upon a rock. Guess our "Rock" has to be God. cricket
Is there anywhere in the world that does not have the probability to suffer some major natural disaster? Here in St. Louis we have flooding, tornadoes, severe hail storms, snow storms, high winds and we are just north of the New Madrid fault. Maybe the poll should be: Which is stranger? Wanting to die from a flood, or from an earthquake?

Barbara
I can't say I would want to live in a earthquake zone or a flood plain. Quote .....Love others as well as you love yourself. Matt 22:39 (The Message Bible)

Dr. Shane
If one lives in a flood plain, regardless if it is below sea level or not, it is just a matter of time before it floods. However those that live in such areas recieve an advance warning so they can flee to shelter. One can live in an earthquake area and never experience an earthquake over 7.0. However if they do experience one they have no advanced warning to take shelter. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
