Genevieve Dickerson, 94, of Collegedale, Tennessee, died on June 23, 2013.

Born July 31, 1918, in Ft. Scott, KS, she was the fifth child in a family of 11. She graduated from Enterprise Academy in Manhattan, KS. She spent her life working for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, first as a Bible worker in Kansas.

Then she taught elementary school for four years. She served as girls' dean at Enterprise Academy. Four years later, she was called to Campion Academy where she was the dean for four years. She became the assistant dean of women at Union College in 1957 a position she would hold for 17 years. While at Union she finished her degree and graduated in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Nina Bell Dickerson, her brothers, Morel, Amos, Melzer, Richard and Melvin. Sisters, Esther Allen, Edith Swartz, and Lucille Turk.

She is survived by her sister, Eva Nordgren; brother, Robert Dickerson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Union College, 3800 South 48th Street, Lincoln, NE 68506.
