:like:

"Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good."

"Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal."

"I love God only as much as the person I love the least."

*Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth.

(And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Double Plus Good :like:

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

Saw this last night....thought it presented the depth that humanity could reach...It was truely a good lessen to see again...

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

Give, give, give...

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days. Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth. If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies. He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap. Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.

Ecclesiastes 11:1-5

Excellent!!!

(now, maybe someone can tell us what the leach business is all about)

Just a stab at answering. It helps to put balance to the counsel of the Word, that often is only accepted when it makes one feel good if is to be paid attention.

Proverbs 30:15

They look proudly around,

casting disdainful glances.

14 They have teeth like swords

and fangs like knives.

They devour the poor from the earth

and the needy from among humanity.

15 The leech has two suckers

that cry out, “More, more!”[a]

There are three things that are never satisfied—

no, four that never say, “Enough!”:

16 the grave,

the barren womb,

the thirsty desert,

the blazing fire.

Proverbs 30:13-16 NLT

God cares! peace

Lift Jesus up!!

Those comments have nothing to do with the message of the video. If one doesn't want to help others, don't try to misuse the Bible. Just go your own way. If one is trying to say something else, then speak plainly, enough with hiding behind texts!!

Bottom line...it ain't balance, just negativity!! Or obfuscation!!

On the other hand, Gail posted (in response to the video in the OP):

Give, give, give...

I believe that the Scripture more apropos to this comment would be Ecclesiastes 11:1,2 -

Cast your bread upon the waters,

For you will find it after many days.

Give a serving to seven, and also to eight,

For you do not know what evil will be on the earth.

I would think the verse alluded to by olger is actually the antithesis of Gail's sentiment.

LHC has already posted this but took it from a different version and there was no discernible connection between "give, give, give..." and "horseleach".

Try this from the KJV (it's almost in English):

Proverbs 30:13-16

13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes!

and their eyelids are lifted up.

14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords,

and their jaw teeth as knives,

to devour the poor from off the earth,

and the needy from among men.

15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give.

There are three things that are never satisfied,

yea, four things say not, It is enough:

16 the grave; and the barren womb;

the earth that is not filled with water;

and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

What do you think?
