It has been a long and exhausting struggle with ovarian cancer this last year. She was diagnosed in the last week of August 2012 and has been through two major surgeries, more than a dozen lesser procedures and repeated rounds of chemotherapy. She was fragile and weighed very little in the end, unable to talk without gasping for breath every word. Both of our daughters are here and took wonderful care of their mother in her last couple of days. If I can type through my tears, I just want to thank those who have stood with us in prayer and friendship through this last year. It has easily been the most terrible of my life. She was so full of life and gave so much to many people, including helping write many books and research reports. She was looking forward to our fourth grandchild coming in February; Melissa's second son. She was only 61. Our 39th wedding anniversary is October 20.
