Can Bush survive?

Could George Bush survive the loss of his brain (karl Rove)?. The white House is obviously nervous about what may happen this week. The following article touches on some of the plans.

Karl Rove has a plan, as always. Even before testifying last week for the fourth time before a grand jury probing the leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity, Bush senior adviser Rove and others at the White House had concluded that if indicted he would immediately resign or possibly go on unpaid leave, several legal and Administration sources familiar with the thinking told TIME. Resignation is the much more likely scenario, they say. The same would apply to I. Lewis (Scooter) Libby, the Vice President's chief of staff, who also faces a possible indictment. A former White House official says Rove's break with Bush would have to be clean--no "giving advice from the sidelines"--for the sake of the Administration.......

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

Aside from the obvious remark about Karl, my question seems rather unintentionally retorical...What does it matter?

We still have to put up with the Bush and his Administration...I was listening to Blitzer on CNN and their headlines was that there were signs of Bush's comeback....[sigh] thought it was a headline to make people like me stick around to watch their news...didn't do it...

No, I think we are stuck with Bush for 2-3 more years, but I sense a feeling that the election year can not get here fast enough...

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

...and some commentators are saying Jeb Bush is now backing away from his previous wish to run for president in 2008, because of the way Dubya has tarnished the Bush name. He feels he wouldn't have a chance.

I am not aware that Jeb Bush has ever had an interest in runnng for President. His biggest set-back wouldn't be his brother's honorable record. It would be his own record as governor.
