Moderators lazarus Posted April 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 13, 2014 Here's a blog post from Garret Caldwell the GC Public Relations Director about the withdrawal of The Record Keeper. I agree with him. It's interesting that he would write this. http://newsle.com/article/0/139683044/ I thought I saw another thread about this somewhere but like Record Keeper it seems to have been withdrawn. Members rudywoofs (Pam)
I didn't see any of the Recordkeeper showings, only the "teaser," which (to me) was rather corny. But bottomline, from what I understand, the GC approved the script before it went into production. And the folks (mostly young adults) who *did* view the film were enthusiastic about it. The film was *based on* the Great Controversy -- it wasn't supposed to be a sentence-by-sentence, paragraph-by-paragraph depiction...and I don't think anyone thought it was going to be. It would have been rather dry, had the script not been given literary and artistic license. If a 100% accurate video of the Great Controversy is the goal, then the ideal would be a dramatic reading by actors with accompanying visuals...but that genre doesn't appeal to very many people. Administrators Naomi Posted April 13, 2014 Administrators Share Posted April 13, 2014 I didn't see any of the Recordkeeper showings, only the "teaser," which (to me) was rather corny. That was the Impression I had after seeing the teaser .... corny. It did not strike me as anything I would spend my time watching. Be that as it may, if there is to be something released it should be the very best our creative talent can produce.
