Jon Wood, a friend of Laurelbrook's president, has a ministry called Jesus for Asia that does faith camps for missions worldwide. You may check out the organization at Jesus for Asia jesus4asia.org. He spoke at the Laurelbrook church today and made the following points (you may agree or disagree with him):

1. His ministry has a two-pronged effort to reach the unreached and engage church members. This ministry mainly works in India and Thailand. 57% of the world’s population lives in Asia, but 90% of Christian giving goes to ministries that engage English-speaking people. For the Latter Rain to be poured out, every member needs to be in consecrated service for God.

2. The Bible comes alive when you are in service for God. Instead of having cars, houses, and boats now, we can have these things or something better later on in heaven. Most of the people from these faith camps go to help unreached groups for a month or two – and never come back.

3. Today the North American Division members give less than ever before to foreign missions – foreign missions are imploding. We as Adventists are abandoning the reason we are Adventists – spreading the gospel to the world. We are indeed the Church of Laodicea. Missions are preparation for the Time of Trouble. The best thing you can do for the gospel is give it away.

4. Now they (with Bill Gates) have a television ministry and also a video dealing with the results of lack of mission giving. These streaming channels can be viewed at Mission TV missiontv.com. Lots of people are promoting local missions, but few promote foreign missions. Our dream is to put this channel up on an uplink right next to 3ABN.

5. His dream is launch a campaign called Only a Hundred. Millions of people in the world want a better way.
