I have a feeling the vote is going to be for Scottish independence.  

 

But I think it would be a big mistake.  The oil and gas reserves upon which Scotland would be dependent probably aren't going to last as long as the hype has advertised (and much of that is postulated to come from extremely controversial shale fracking).

I think they won't. It will be close but I think the last minute push that's happened in the last few days will push the "no" camp over the top.

I heard on NPR, I believe, that even if it does pass, that it will still be a few years before its finalized.

Scotland will remain part of the United Kingdom - along with England, Wales and Northern Ireland - following a historic referendum vote. A majority of voters Thursday rejected the possibility of Scotland breaking away and becoming an independent nation.

I think that was the right move for Scotland..

I think this was a win-win for those who wanted independence. The have been able to secure greater devolution from the UK anyway. The hasn't yet set on the British Empire but it certainly is dusk.
