Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 1, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2014 The Boulder SDA Church is reaching out to the public in a new way. To see what it is, go to: http://qideas.org/qcommons/Boulder/ This is a national program that involves about 60 locations. It is not a program that everyone will like. It is expected to stimulate thought and to challenge. It is not free. To attend one will have to purchase a ticket. Perhaps, some in the Denver Metro area will be interested in attending. In any case, click on ot the URL. Go to the program and click on an explaination as to what will happen and at what time. If you are interested, purchase a ticket. NOTE: While there are national and local speakers, there is time for local audience interaction. Quote Gregory
Members rudywoofs (Pam)
it doesn't appear to be a specific Adventist type of event - rather, the Boulder SDA Church is simply the venue... In Portland, the First Baptist Church is the venue. (What a goofy name for the organization: "Q Commons" .... it brings to mind the "Q sign" term from my time working in the hospital ER...) Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 1, 2014 Author Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2014 Pam, correct. This is an outreach to the public that is not focused on the SDA Church. As I said, it is a new way, some will not welcome it and it just may challenge. Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted October 10, 2014 Author Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2014 This was an outstanding success. The majority of attendees were people unknown to the Church and probably not SDA. Included were a number of pastors from non-SDA congregations. The objective was outreach to people not members and not known to us. Contrary to my negative expectations, we were not told how to vote. It was a very positive program. The Boulder Church plans to do this again in February 2015. Quote Gregory
JoeMo
I didn't even see this until this morning - too late now. I would have liked to go. Hopefully I can go in February.
