Sojourner
I read this article in the review today, i was a little surprised just how frank and open the SDA are about what is a subject that many do not wish to discuss. Its a tough subject to face, but I am encouraged that the SDA are recognising it and doing their best to try and get people help, which is not the impression the media tends to give. http://record.net.au/items/caution
sacredagent777
The article is very informative. Any time you can bring to light this terrible sin, it is awesome. As you will see from the 2 links below, our church has already prepared as best as possible so far for this terrible plight many years ago. We need our magazines to expand more on this topic consistently so it will always be present in our minds. The poor children who suffer physically and mentally from this is a larger concern also. The Lord has helped many of them I am sure! Remember, the background checks done for volunteers, teachers, etc... will only bring to light someone who has been caught. There are 50x more pedophiles that pass the check and infiltrate our churches. Where sin did abound, GRACE did MUCH more abound. When we plead with Jesus for protection, He will lead us properly with wisdom and guidance according to His will. http://www.adventistrisk.org/prevention-resources/safety-topics/child-and-youth-activities/child-protection http://www.communityservices.org/article/135/resources/acs-ministries/www-adventistyes-org/yes-leadership-resources/forms-and-guidelines Sojourner
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted November 23, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2014 Sojourner: I believe that the article was published in the RECORD, I think an Australian publication, not the REVIEW. Quote Gregory
