Taken in context of the rest of their beliefs, I can take it to mean they are talking about the basic good of those individuals. I can very easily read it as saying nothing about the right or wrong of a 'lifestyle'. Maybe that bothers some people, not condemning. I am not going to assume the church is supporting of any 'sin', but supporting the 'sinner', I can make the assumption. I believe a person would need to ask specific questions of the leadership. I don know of a single example where Christ took the scriptures out of context to prove His point, in fact He condemned the religious leaders of the day for doing such and spent His time here lifting people out of such religious bondage.
