Passport

Hi All

I seem to have lost my passport, which is kind of major because I have to fly to Australia in about 4 days. We've ransacked the house, prayed about it and are still searching... your prayers added to ours would be very welcome.

Will do Bravus - and you wont like Sydney if that is where you are headed, 40 deg Celsius today

I dunno, from the -23 with a windchill of -30 we had this morning, 40 actually doesn't sound too horrible! At least bits of you don't turn black and drop off at 40...

(I'm headed for Brisbane, btw)

Absolutely Bravus! Will pray! I once lost my passport the NIGHT of a major trip and understand the feeling of panic. Fortunately it was found just hours before we were to leave, but I can relate. Can you get a replacement for a lost passport? For instance, as an American I could go to the passport office in LA and get a new passport the same day if I had to. I would probably spend all day in line, but it would be worth it, if I were leaving in 4 days.

I can report it lost and apply for a new one, and hope it'll be ready for me to pick up in Vancouver on the way, but that's risky. It'll also cost $200-250, and once I report it lost, even if I find it I can't use it... So I'll have one last look around tomorrow morning at home, and one at work, and then I guess I either find it or report it lost and jump on that train... Thanks all for your prayers and support.

Thanks all for your prayers: apparently I'm meant to be in Vancouver tomorrow and Friday, 'cos that's the only way to get a replacement in time. PTL that at least I have some frequent flyer miles that mean I can fly out free...

I was wondering about that Bravus.

Did you look between the drawers in your dresser? Like take the bottom drawer out and see if it fell down there?

Yep, really pretty much ripped the house apart, moving furniture etc, and doing as you describe. Other friends also prescribed double checking jacket pockets and so on, including rarely worn ones, and we did all that too. As I said above, He has a plan... even if it's inconvenient!

Well, then! There's only two things to do!

Keep an eye out for your Jabez appointment(s) and get that passport!

I shall be praying for you that you discern the tasks that Abba has for you on your journey to Vancouver and while you are there.

Heh, OK, here is the conclusion of the whole matter. I needed my birth certificate to prove I was an Aussie to get the passport replaced, and so just on the way out the door to jump on the plane I grabbed the folder with my birth cert and all my degrees and references and so on... and the passport was in that folder! No clue in the world how it got there, but there it was. Cancelled everything, and it's gonna end up costing me $120 in total to be confused, but now I have two more days in my life...

Thanks all for prayers, ideas, good wishes and advice.

Well that was a rather logical place to store it, along with other "important" papers. Do you think that God was having a chuckle over that?

YAY! Wooohooo! Glad you found it and have a wonderful trip home. Is well that you don't have to spend extra days traveling... we get you for a day or two more.

Clio

P.S. you ARE going to hop online from "Down Under" right?

Yep, I think I'd suffer major withdrawal symptoms if I was CA-deprived for a whole week-and-a-half! So I should be able to report in (and my blog will probably have travel reports, photos and so on too).
