Members phkrause
The word rapture is often used to refer to a secret return of Jesus, the idea being that millions of Christians will be unobtrusively taken to heaven seven years prior to Christ’s second coming, leaving the unconverted behind. This concept of Christ’s return to earth remains a significant part of the American religious psyche. Martn
Adventism teaches a version of the rapture. Except where most rapturists place a period of seven years, between the rapture and final coming of Jesus, Adventists place the Millennium. Of course Adventists don't believe it will be secret, and most don't use the term rapture to describe it. Actually, most rapturists don't believe it will be secret. Not totally secret. The world will know when it happens, they say. I believe in the rapture myself (as do very Orthodox Jews, by the way). A little differently from how most Adventists see it. Quote 2 Samuel 24:1-- The LORD moved David to number Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1-- SATAN moved David to number Israel.
