Moderators Gerr Posted March 4, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 4, 2017 No! Why? 1. It calls for the kind of love that "does not insist on its own way". I'm not willing to do that. 2. It calls for the kind of humility that prefers others before myself! 3. It calls for me to give up some of my most cherished beliefs even though some of them are most likely half-baked! 4. I don't want someone else telling me what to do and believe! So there!
JoeMo
Gerry, You need to quit mincing your words and beating around the bush! Seriously, I agree with you. I don't want to do those things either. I fail frequently. On the other hand, I don't want to confuse "unity" with uniformity" (this has been discussed heavily in another thread). We can be unified in our mission and goals; but it's okay to be diverse in the methods we use to achieve those goals. Does that make sense? CoAspen
Seeking unity with God is difficult enough, with humans...that is a whole 'nother subject! Yes, I want the first, the second, I am not so concerned about.
