ALSO sometimes we need to take a few days break from these kind of forums. Not that I want anyone to leave, but all of us, including myself, >>just need a break<< sometimes.

and, Group.gif say, AMEN and AMEN

Hey Jeannie,

David is using the HTML code for "marquee. here is what his post looks like if you were to "view source" HTML. I put the "marquee" code in red.

Do not see that very often anymore.<br /><br />I am not saying that this is not a forum, a forum is place to exchange ideas, provide thoughts, discuss etc, that is what forums do well.<br /><br />BUT please be mindful of others, and don't cyber-bite people. <br /><br /><hr /></blockquote><font class="post">Stan<br /><br />This is not really a comment about you - but your remark about the ignore button reminds me that the "ignore button" is all too often turned on in a Church against those who don't exactly fit in. The forum makes this ignoring very easy; but what happens in a Church when someone is "ignored?" In a Jehovah's Witness setting (among others) it is called "shunning." The results are never good. No one ever learns to just deal with the problem that is causing the problem.<br /><br />I agree 100% with your comment re becoming a stumbling block. The last time I went to Church, two weeks ago, someone spent a lot of time/effort trying to tell me about the evils of using creams and lotions on your skin. I call guys like that[:"red"] <marquee><b>"Mr Health Message."</b></marquee>[/] The stumbling block part comes in right at the point where I just happen to be someone who uses such things on my skin, liberally, because I have been burned severely, over a large percentage of my body in the past. You just wouldn't believe the great long explanation I got of all the horrors of doing so; including a shocking "testimony" of someone who apparently did suffer some of those horrors. <br /><br />I definitely did have me a small "stumble" there; and I think that if the GC or the GC Legal people have, or intend to take issue with anyone who uses the name/word "Adventist;" then it will be a similar, but much more severe "stumbling block."<br /><br />Your concern there is very valid - "even today."<br /><br />BTW, another person more than made up for this stumbling block by just coming up to me and greeting me enthusiastically, and showing care and concern in a friendly, unfeigned way. It was a real bright spot in that visit to Church. We need more of these kinds of "building blocks" to replace all the "stumbling blocks;" both on the forums and in the Churches.<br /><br /><IMG SRC="http://www.adventistforum.com/ubbthreads/attachments/213164-pigs.jpg" Border="0" alt="Attachment">

Thanks Amelia.

Where is the post that tells how to insert pics in the body of a post. I printed it and put it in a "Safe" place. Get my drift? smilie_bett.gif Yep, I have slept since then! sleeping.gif

"waxing" is an old term for "growing" or "building". It is most of used in reference to the moon. A "waxing" moon is growing from new to full. When you apply wax to a surface ie a wooden board or skis, you are building up a protective surface. To "wax" poetic is to continue to expound on a topic that one has said enough about already.LOL

If that is the case, we are 'waxing' pretty good on irritating people..... grin.gif

Frankly, I prefer to lay in on thick...As a medical professional, I have found that the nutrional needs of people have resulted in over growth of bone mass in cerebral portions...

IOWs, to make an impression, you sometimes gotta use a big 2X4. grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

Well, no I am not..... smile.gif

Hmmmm. Hey Neil. You got me wondering now what would happen to me if I came into your office to "show you my owies."

LOL...I do think that Mr Health, whom I mentioned above is on a very

[:"#FF0000"]SHAKY FOUNDATION

. Maybe I should bring him in with me when we come for a checkup??... luxhello.gif

Hmmmmm.....Any adult that comes to me to "show me thier owies" causes my auto self defence mechanisms to go on yellow alert. Besides, I am a "medical professional", but not a doctor and I can not treat wounds.... However, I would ask about how you got your wounds and probably get around to asking if you deserve your wounds.... grin.gif

Nah, I have found that "Mr. Health" usually has an excessive build up of calcium [excessive nutrition] in cerebral portions of the body [head]. And to make an impression upon him would definately be too much of an expenditure of time and focus.gif energy on my part. grin.gif

So, I guess you could say that I refuse to waste my time on that blockhead. tongue.gifwink.gif

Wax on, wax off! grin.gif

To "wax cold" is simply to grow cold, that is, to progressively first cool off and gradually get colder till we're talkin' "frozen chosen" as they say. grin.gif

Just this moment a brilliant thought came to me. By "brilliant" I literally mean full of light, so you know it didn't originate in MY "cold" little self-centered heart. tongue.gif It is this:

Maybe something we can do when someone irritates us is to ask a simple question:

Is there anything I can do to help us get along better?

Honestly not sure this would be useful in the case of

[:"red"] Mr. Health Message[/]

though. icon_smile_sick.gif
