SDAs and Change

No one can say with certainty how early denominational leaders would relate to the issues that we face today in the denomination.  However, the following article makes some suggestions that may be of value to us today as we face these issues:

To change one’s mind may therefore not be a sign of weakening faith, but rather an evidence of personal and spiritual growth. What applies to divine messengers also holds true for dedicated leaders. The longer they serve, the more teachable they become under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. “To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often” (J. H. Newman). The following quote pertains, therefore, not only to matters of doctrine and theology, structure and policy, but equally to each of us personally. “Some things must be torn down. Some things must be built up.”
