Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 14, 2017 Moderators Share Posted December 14, 2017 In our human life we attach titles to the positions that we hold. We want to be recognized for the honor bestowed on us and our status in life. The following article looks at this from a Biblical standpoint. It agrees that there is a Biblical support for doing this and it suggests what that is: https://spectrummagazine.org/article/2017/12/12/servanthood-our-christian-calling We love titles, even in Christian circles. Whether it is Pastor, President, Professor, or Pope, titles are common currency in the church’s vocabulary. Inherent within some of those titles is the concept of hierarchy, authority, control, and very often, privilege. The obvious, or unseen, but well-known underbelly of titles is often church politics.
