Becca
Hello friends, I have read prayer requests posted by others, and have appreciated the loving responses so many have shared. I have a heavy heart today due to a phone call from my son this morning. He (age 25) and his girlfriend broke up last night and he is taking it hard. He has struggled with depression in the past, even to the point of attempting suicide. Though he is much more stable now, an experience such as this will no doubt be difficult. I am praying not only for comfort for him, but more importantly that his relationship with God will be strengthened through this ordeal. Also for courage for him to believe that there is someone out there for him. I pray that he will trust God to care for him, and that just now he will feel the loving presence of Jesus surrounding him. Thank you for praying for Matthew with me. Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted April 18, 2006 Moderators Share Posted April 18, 2006 Oh, Becca, I'm so sad for you. Praying for your son right now. I remember the huge sense of relief which came over me when the last of my three children finally married. Because while they're adults yet single, they're rather footloose and without "roots" -- giving the MOTHER a rough time in keeping tabs on them from the sidelines without appearing overprotective! But remember, God loves him even more than you do. He never sleeps. Your son is in His hands. Quote Jeannie

...Change is inevitable; growth is optional.... Becca
Thank you all so much for your prayers and replies. They brought tears to my eyes. Matthew called me this evening and said that he went to all his classes today. (he is in college) He is trying to keep busy, and sounded better this evening than he did this morning. I feel comforted and encouraged. It was after a break up 2 years ago that he attempted suicide, so you can imagine my fears this time around. I am thankful for how God has worked in his life, but as a mother I am anxious to see "the work completed." Thank you for sharing this burden with me. It is a comfort to know you are praying with me. I will continue to keep you posted. Becca Quote * Unity is achieved as we each draw near to Jesus *
