An Ungodly Use of Prayer

I agree with the author as I have often seen prayer used in a manner that I considered inappropriate.

I once was asked to give an opening prayer in an important meeting.  In my prayer I stated that many of us had traveled distances with our minds already made up as to the decisions that should be made and we really did not want  God to do anything different.  I asked that God would grant us what we wished for so that we might learn the consequences of our own self-will and repent.

As to what happened to me:  Nothing, other than I was not asked to give such prayers again.
