Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 22, 2018 Moderators Share Posted May 22, 2018 I expect to post more on this subject later. But, for now, I will post one short comment. It has often been suggested that females cannot meet the physical requirements that the males have to meet. Taylor England is a female officer that is headed to the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Recently she took the standard Army Physical Qualification test. She maxed out with 360 points on a test where the top score is 300--IOW, she earned extra points beyond the max. She completed her 2-mile run in 13 minutes and 9 seconds. The maximum score for a male is achieved at 13 minutes--nine seconds less than her score and well above the minimum passing score for a male. NOTE: How many of you reading this could run that fast? Quote Gregory
Members rudywoofs (Pam)
lots of people can do that, especially young people England's age (22 y/o) .... And she's been doing sports all her life. Question: Taylor England is a cadet at West Point, where she is a sergeant major. Does that equate to a sergeant major rank in the army when she graduates? Quote Pam Meddle Not In the Affairs of Dragons; for You Are Crunchy and Taste Good with Ketchup. If we all sang the same note in the choir, there'd never be any harmony. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted May 22, 2018 Author Moderators Share Posted May 22, 2018 When she graduates she will become a 2nd Lt. The Sgt. Major rank is only for West Point cadets, so she is a major leader in her class. She is in a West Point class of 230 cadets and is top-ranked in scholarship. She is headed for an infantry position in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. rudywoofs (Pam) 1 Quote Gregory

NOTE: How many of you reading this could run that fast? Most reading this do not have any desire to join the military so it is not necessary to run that fast. I would not want my granddaughters in the military but if that is what they decide they should be allowed to...IF they can do so without the requirements being lowered because they are women. If women can meet the same physical requirements required for men. I know a young woman that wants to be a firefighter. She is not a large muscular woman. She would ace any test requiring speed or intelligence. Would she have the ability to carry an average size man out of a burning building? Don't know, but if that is required from a male firefighter then she should be able to. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.
