How do you feel about chipping immigrants?

Scott Silverman, Chairman of the Board of VeriChip Corporation, has proposed implanting the company's RFID tracking tags in immigrant and guest workers. He made the statement on national television on May 16.

Silverman was being interviewed on "Fox & Friends." Responding to the Bush administration's call to know "who is in our country and why they are here," he proposed using VeriChip RFID implants to register workers at the border, and then verify their identities in the workplace. He added, "We have talked to many people in Washington about using it...."

It is a bit ironic that some U.S. citizens "see" immigrants in this way. Likewise, it is sad that some citizens of other countries "see" immigrants in a similar light.

Cricket, I have a major issue with the way that immigrants are seen in the UK as well, we blow it out of proportion to the general population and inadequate policies in the first place. I'll not say any more, it's a big topic and I think that many seem to forget the roots of their own origins.

I am a legal immigrant and I don't think it's a good idea. Even if they came to the USA illegally that's just degrading and wrong. Think of all the radio interferance that might cause.

Seriously, I doubt that this will ever happen. It reminds me of how the Nazi's numbered and marked out the Jews. Different situation, I know but just the idea of numbering people that way and keeping track of them is wrong. Unless they are dangerous criminals this makes no sense to me. Let them pay their fines and give them the choice to either stay or go home.

Just a side note. I calculated that it would take 21 planes a day, that carry 300 people each, everyday for the next five years to deport 11 million people. That is not going to happen.

I don't see this happening because it would be political suicide for what ever party tried this.

If the republicans do this, the dems will call them racist and if the dems do it the republicans will make the dems look bad. Who ever does good to this group is almost guaranteed all their votes.

There is too much on the line for this to take place at this time under current conditions. Voting blocks like this can meaning winning or losing. So if your a politian, what are you going to do? Certainly not chip em.

I'm not certain that it will happen for immigrants only. I think it's more likely that all U.S. citizens and any legal immigrants and/or visitors will be required to be "chipped" at some point.

Really, when you think about it, we already have our own ID given to us by God--our fingerprints and our DNA. Already there are times when I've been required to leave a fingerprint mark on a check I'd like to cash.

Perhaps without an electronic chip, the government will monitor us by tracking our fingerprint trail.

I have stated a number of times that the mark of the beast is going to both literal and spiritual. The mark's literal application has to be something that can effectively implement economic sanctions (the forbidding of the ability to buy or sell) at the individual level for something other than the ability to pay financially.

This is so because of the nature of the religio-political system that is represented by the beast and it's image.

The US has already set the standard for the communication protocols for RFID chips and scanners. Foreign countries that want to do business with the US must conform to those standards or we will not allow their goods into the country. Wal-Mart is the foremost US business driving this. Effective January 1, 2005 every, single, individual item sold in any Wal-Mart or Sam's Club in the entire US must have an RFID tag embedded in it.

The chips are currently being agressively marketed to healthcare organizations, the DHS, and the military has entire units already chipped with RFID chips that include GPS location devices accurate to within 10 yards. US citizens are voluntarily getting chipped for convenience, novelty, increased access to an increasingly digital world.

US citizens have given up more individual rights without a whimper than I would have believed possible since 9/11.

All it will take is one more incident. Just one. And they will be lining up.

Real ID becomes mandatory on May 15th, 2008. Real ID is currently defined by DHS as a card with biometric data - either fingerprint or retinal scan. However, the states are balking at the requirements of implementation because it is costing sooo much to implement. The states are petitioning the DHS to require it to be a chip, which costs pennies, the citizen pays for the implant, less than $50, and the scanners cost less than $200 each.

The current RFID chips being marketed have sufficient memory capabilities to contain all financial, insurance, health, and personal records with room to spare. They are powered with a tiny radioactive charge.

According to Patriot Act II, which is now permanent and signed into law, without Real Id, a person will be forbidden from holding a job, having a bank account, interacting with the Federal government in any way including paying taxes, receiving social security, medicare, or obtaining a passport.

Those who take the mark will eventually develop a 'noisome sore' according to Revelation on either their hand or forehead depending on where they take the mark.

The PRIME locations for an RFID chip to be embedded are the back of the hand or the center of the forehead directly at the hairline.

According to the Bible this WILL happen.

Now... you tell me. Will it happen, or not?

interesting comments I still don't think this will happen to the illegal immigrants. I haven't found this in the Bible, that people will get literal chips. This is going to be a spiritual battle and it's going to involve worship. All that is neccessary to with hold people's money is to assign them a PIN # for their SSN. It's cheap and it will work.

People are wanting that becuase of all the ID theft, but a chip??? who do you know that wants one. That is so invasive and frightening.

I can't say that it won't happen I just don't see it happening.

I know 5 twenty-somethings locally who have voluntarily gotten it. We have already been approached by our Dr.'s office due to my husband's medical conditions.

I've read the Verichip business plan. And when that next "thing" happens on US soil, and people start lining up VOLUNTARILY, with their pastor's approval and urging, you will know.

It's ok Norman. You don't believe a lot of what I say. But when it happens, you will remember. And you will know what to do.

Not yet. But only because the DHS isn't satisfied with the security measures. As soon as that is solved, expect to see it happen.

The industry believes it has been, they testified for DHS yesterday.

Watch for the next "thing" and see how fast it becomes mandatory.

There are some new technologies being used that mimic chipping. One is the new "press and go" paying in some grocery stores. You register with any of the banks that are affiliated and then have your index (or other if missing your index) finger printed and scanned. Then your print is linked to your account. When making a purchase at a store using this program, you go through a checker or a self checkout and then press your finger to the pad and bingo; items paid for and on you go. Never carry cash or plastic again. ID theft? Not so far but I bet'cha some young kid will figure out a way to hack that.

I don't doubt that it will happen or something similar. It has been proven that any major event that threatens security will open the hearts and minds of the populus to accept any security measure deemed necessary for protection.

Think about the amount of laws that have been enacted all over the world that actually breach our privacy in the name of security. Increased trrorist activity information fed to us daily, we have been placed on heightened security. I believe that the reality of a terrorist is much lower than purported, but it serves a greater purpose to make us think that it is higher. So much more can be acheived or gotten away with if the nations believe that there is an imminent threat.

9/11 was the catalyst to enable all of this to happen, I have no doubt that the American and possibly British governments were aware or even involved in it's occurance. Slate me if you will, I not particularly concerned. The bible prophecies must be forfilled, the mark of the best is more than the sabbath. We are already in the events leading up to the close of time. This whole thing is bigger than we could ever imagine. But Praise God, he is in control!
