An "Outrage" Mob Begins at AU and Reaches the Internet

A cyber mob is when a group gathers online to try to collectively shame, harass, threaten, or discredit a target. “Outrage mobs” or “shaming mobs” are a distinct kind of cyber mob made up of internet users who collectively troll individuals in the hopes of silencing or publicly punishing them.

Two weeks ago, an outrage-mob attack occurred on Twitter, with the goal of discrediting Dr. John Markovic, a professor at Andrews University.

An update to this activity shows some pretty horrific commentary regarding this professer. The article noted that what the student did was a violation of the Code of Student Conduct.

14. Verbal, written, physical and other forms of inappropriate, disrespectful, intimidating, harassing, bullying (degrading, humiliating, malicious or defamatory) or lurking (expressing and/or maintaining steady romantic interest that is unwelcomed and/or unrequited) behaviors which compromise the dignity, well-being, health or safety of any person; includes, but is not limited to, phone calls, emails, texts and all forms of online or social network communications.

The students "handle" in internet postings is "Hater of Happiness"!

I find it interesting that this professor who has been targeted also happens to be attempting to educate people on emergent truth. You have to wonder who really is behind all of this.
