Prayers requested

I received a phone call last night telling me that my beloved Aunt Bill (her real name is Lillian but she's always been Aunt Bill to me) feel and broke her hip on her way back from seeing her eye doctor. She'd been having problems with her corneal transplant (that was over 10 years ago) and amazingly her doc requested to see her at 11 am yesterday (yes on a Sunday). Apparently on the way back home, at some restaurant, she fell and broke her hip. My aunt is 86.

Would you please put her on your prayer list? As well as her family. She was recovering from a stroke she'd had just before Christmas and had made such great progress! I know we can't keep her forever but she is the glue in our family.

Thanks!

I just spoke to my cousin and he said there was some good news to report on my aunt. Seems she did NOT break her hip but the femur bone roughly 2 inches down from the hip joint. Also, she can't have surgery until Wednesday due to the blood thinner she takes daily. She's still in quite a bit of pain but according to her son, he can tell the prayers are working.

What makes matters some worse was she was taken first to the hospital where she and my uncle were taken 4 years ago when they had a car accident. My uncle ended up dying from injuries he sustained from that wreck and it really weighed on Aunt Bill's mind it seems.

I'm very thankful things are not quite as serious as originally thought but realize that she's not out of the woods yet either.

My cousin said to extend their thanks for your prayers on behalf of his mother and to keep praying! That's goes ditto for me and the rest of our family as well.

Thanks Norman and all the rest for your prayers! They're working!

Since Monday, she was able to have her surgery a day earlier than first thought; AND she has been up walking some and her appetite is improving!

I am taking my mother down to visit her (Aunt Bill was married to my mothers oldest brother who is deceased). She has been so worried about her. Those two are like two little peas in a pod. I thought I'd share a photo of them taken this past Mother's Day.

Thanks again for your prayers!

I forgot to tell who was who!

My aunt is on the left and my mother is on the right. Aren't they adorable? I am the most blessed little puddle because I have 2 of the sweetest little ladies around me.

God is good!

Hey Puddles

I'll pray, no worries. I can't believe how much trouble your aunt has had. God will give her what ever is best for her, now and in the next life, I promise.

I took my mother, uncle (mom's brother, Aunt Bill's brother in law) and Aung Bills (older) sister down to vist this afternoon. She looked quite well considering. She showed us where the surgeons worked on her and told us she did some walking yesterday. I told her that I'd put her out for prayer and she said, "I knew you would"

On the way back home, we stopped at the McDonalds where my aunt took her tumble and her sister and my uncle had a fish sandwich in her honor. Seems this was why my cousin and aunt stopped at the Mc'Ds to begin with. She'd wanted a fish sandwish but never got to eat one. She and my cousin had gone to the restroom to wash up before ordering and she fell. Needless to say, I wouldn't let my uncle or her sister go near the restrooms...

While she seems to be making progress with her leg, she is having another problem. Her eye that has the corneal transplant from years back. From what she said, the eye surgeon had planned to operate on her eye this past wednesday but since her spill, that's been canceled. And it seems that this fellow was going out of town for several weeks for some reason. So would you please pray that not only can we get her leg healed up but that her eye can be fixed before its too late as well? I ask her sister why she couldn't see out of the other eye and was told she had a detached retina that was inoperable. []http://www.longdog.karoo.net/smilies/shrug.gif[/]

Thanks so much. Oh! Aunt Bill said to thank you all for your prayers too!

 • 2 weeks later...

We got good news! If my aunt continues to make progress, she will be permitted to go home next week! I thought that was awesome!

I spoke to her daughter about her eye situation and hopefully once she recovers from this broken leg, she will be able to have the eye surgery. They have been working with both eye and leg doctors.

Thanks so much for your prayers! []http://www.longdog.karoo.net/smilies/heartface.gif[/]
